I've seen it once or twice. I thought is was pretty awesome. I don't know if they still air it on TV or not. They probably put it on premium channels now or pay per view the matches. I bet I can find a match online. That would be pretty sweet if I did.

Unfortunately I have never had the privillege of being trained in Muay Thai, as Thai Boxing is known. As far as excercises go, this is one martial art that will get every part of your body working and becoming stronger. In Thailand, this is an ancient art that has helped many young men become prominent members of society, and as a fighting style it is probably one of the most effective - I think you can use every part of your body except the head, which is consisidered sacred to the Thai's. I have not watched a live Muay Thai match, though I think it could be something I could do the next time I make it up to Thailand. However, I have watched "The Contender Asia," which is similar to the American show, "The Contender" except this one is based on Thai boxing instead of Western boxing. The fights are quite amazing but I'm also impressed with the way these guys can be friends after beating each other quite severely.

thai boxing - Thai Boxing, is the national sport of Thailand and is a martial art with origins in the ancient battlefield tactics of the Siamese (or Thai) army. It evolved from Krabi-Krabong, literally sword and baton, the hand-to-hand tactics of the Thai army. The early Muay Thai bouts pitted different companies within the Siamese army against each other with few rules and no weight divisions or time limits. They became quite popular and eventually were shown in stadium across the country. In the early 20th century, time limits, boxing gloves as well as a uniform set of rules were introduced. During the latter half of the 20th century Muay Thai was exported to many countries and is now practiced by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.
Good morning, successlog. Thai Boxing, the national sport of Thailand is a martial art with origins in the ancient battlefield tactics of the Siamese (or Thai) army. I love to watch boxing very much though it looks a little bit brutal to me.

I love any kind of boxing. I have been watching it for years and let me tell you over the years there has been many great fights. Before I injuried my back a few years ago I would take Muay Thai Boxing mixed in with some Kick Boxing. I really wish that I could go back to it as I enjoyed it alot and it was great exercise. I sure had alot of flexibility back then.
