If the procedure is done accurately it should block the descent of eggs (ova) from the ovaries and thus block fertilisation, so there is supposed to be no risk.

you could get preggers while having your tubes tied but it is very dangerous and not a viable pregnancy.

The danger is that the growing and developing baby is ment to be in the uterus but may the placenta may attach to the outside of the uterus, or some other organ because the placenta requires a vascular place to implant and function.

I'm pretty sure it's 100% impossible to get pregnant after having your tubes tied.

It's not 100% impossible to get pregnant after one's tubes are tied. Its known to happen. I have two friends who conceived babies after having their tubes tied, but this was many years ago.

it is possible to get pregnant with a tubaligation but rare. The risk becomes higher as time goes on. Best to have a piece of the tube removed and each end clamped.

That would be kind of dangerous and the Doctor would half to take the baby because the baby wouldn't live. or you could die.

it is very dangerous for mother to have a placenta implanted any place outside the uterus. There is very high risk of hemhorrage for the mother.

there is no risk because they take something out ( don't know what) that prevents the baby even getting made. my mom had a hysterectomy after her third also.

Why do you want to have your tubes tied and then conceive another baby? Tubal ligation is supposed to be used to prevent conception. It is a surgical procedure ment to be permenant and classicly requiring reconstructive surgery to reverse.

I'm sure the chance of becoming pregnant is very low, but you should talk to your doctor, or do some research online.

i envy your friend that managed to get pregnant with her tubes tied. I had mine tied after my 4th child. If I had it to do again there is no way I would have done it. I spent 3 weeks afterwards in so much pain. It hurt worse then having a baby. I would take having a baby with no pain meds any day over having my tubes tied. the chance of getting pregnant after a tubal ligation (or a vasectomy for that matter) is between 0.25% and 0.5% -- M. I have had three children and I have had my tubes tied, burnt, and clipped. My doctor told me I could still get preganant, but he also said that if I got pregant I would not be able to carry it I would have to have an abortion. I don't know how you feel about that, but I don't believe in that. So I am still scared that I will become pregnant. I guess if I do I will do what I have to. I wish your friend all the luck. Will you e-mail me and tell me how your friend is doing and if she can carry the baby?

The risk of conception occuring after tubal ligation is very low, but is present. Tubal ligation may be done several ways, but the purpose is to prevent the released egg (ova) from being swept into the fallopian tube, where conception usually occurs. Sperm swim through the cervix into the uterus and travel into the fallopian tube where conception classicly occurs. On occassion, conception occurs anyway. Nothing but abstinance is 100% effective to prevent pregnancy. Its about the same as the pill: 99%. So your risk of pregnancy after tubal ligation is generally around 1%.

If your tubes are tied than there is no risk to have a baby anymore. The reason is that the eggs are not released in the uterus. But I don't know the risks that exists for the woman if she does it, if there are any.

There are higher risks of extrauterine implantation of the blastocyst when a woman becomes pregnant after having her tubes tied.
