Did you ever laugh at the wrong time?

Just now, when I was posting here at myLot, my uncle was standing outside the room talking to someone downstairs. I should tell you first that he usually jokes with me and is always playing pranks with me. So when he was talking, I half-heard his words and felt that he was once again pulling off some joke, so I laughed out. But instantly I realized that it was something serious altogether that he was speaking about, and not to me also. I felt so embarrassed! Had you ever fallen in such a situation? Do share your experiences. Cheers.

abhidestar hi yes similar but not quite the same we were on vacation when i wasmuch younger and my mom and I were sitting in a parklike place in a shopping mall. this man seated next to my mom started talking to her and she ended up telling him how we raised bees and sold honey on our farm, now he was talking about beef and she was talking about bees, and somehow he did not understand about the honey so finally he got a bit exasperated and said, I havenever heard of anyone selling beef in sixty pound cans, how on earth do you can that that wayh, and my mom is going , oh no beef. she started to laugh and he was really angry so I stepped in and introduced myself. I told him she had said bees and he had heard beef, and did not hear her say honey. so finally we all got to laughing about it and my dad came out from his shopping and joined us. he laughed too when he heard the story.

That's really funny, Hatley. Thanks for sharing it. "Selling beef in sixty pound cans?" That was hilarious! How could he even imagine that? Thanks for sharing that good laugh with all of us again, Hatley. Cheers.

I know what you mean! I have some extended family that's been having trouble, and that's usually what we talk about when we all get together. My grandma will say something that seems unrealistic about my cousin, I'll laugh, and then everyone stares. I make sure I'm always kept up to date on everything that's happening in the family, so I know not to laugh. It really helps a lot when you don't want to be surrounded by people who think you're immature and trying to be funny. Luke

That's a very important point, Luke. It's an absolute necessity that we keep ourselves updated on the happenings in thee family, and it's also precisely something which I haven't done a lot. So I usually refrain from making a comment at the dinner table during conversations regarding the family news. If something falls on my ears which I have no idea about, I simply make a mental note of it and ask mom about it as soon as I get a chance. Asking about it then and there will be revealing my ignorance to all which isn't that desirable to me.

Hello, abhi, i always get distracted when i am watching TV or typing in front of the computer. If someone speak to me at that very moment i'd answer yes or no at random and don't even care about the content. I guess most of the people will act the same way if they are concentrated on something. Good luck
