How long?

When I start a discussion I am excited to see what my first response is. But sometimes it seems to take forever before someone responds and I get very impatient at times. I go to the my unresolved discussion link on the left to see if anyone has responded instead of waiting and checking my emails for notification. I find it quicker that way. Do you check your discussions right away to see of someone has responded? I don;t start very many discussions so that is why I get excited to see a response. So how long do you wait to see a response or do you even care?

Yeah, I do not post as many discussions. I'm usually of a responded than a starter. I check responses using email though. I have the email on the first tab and mylot on the other tabs. I usually stay for about 30 minutes average to wait for an initial response. While responding to other discussions I just refresh my inbox from time to time to see if there are responses. I'll try to respond asap. Sometimes though, I think 1 or 2 of my discussions, I open them and had to go somewhere. I'm anticipating a few responses. Some are few but it's ok.

Thanks, this discussion only took a couple minutes to get some responses so that makes me happy, but some of the other discussions I just started don't have any responses yet and that makes me unhappy. I like to hear other people's views so I am sitting here anticipating getting some more responses to them, but I don't know if I will as it has been a few minutes and still none. But I will continue to hope.

I totally understand how you feel. Sometimes, I even wait for an hour or two on a discussion I opened that I know is not that simple nor complicated and what I thought would have more people as interested in the topic as I do. It's really unexpected at times. There are discussions where you feel there won't be any responses and yet after a day it's more than 20. Or, vice versa. Oh well, that is really something out of our control. Just give it more time, who knows maybe tomorrow a few will login and drop by to respond on your discussions. Take care!

of course I do care to see how many had responded to my discussion. Sometimes, there are immediate replies, sometimes it takes a day or 2 buts most often I can have a reply on that day I posted a discussion the least is 2 response. Maybe I have some discussions with zero response but I don;t care about it. I just go on posting or replying to other;s discussion without worrying over my discussion with no response. Good luck to you.

Usually, posting a discussion is the last thing I do in mylot. After posting a discussion, I'll usually close the mylot site and I'll go ahead and do other things. However, my gmail will still be opened so I can see clearly whether I have new responses for my discussions. I feel happy when I see a quick response too as it usually indicates that the discussion might be a popular one. I'll usually response to the replies the next day or the day after next when I have time.

I try not to let it bother me. If people want to reply to topics like "what shape noodle do you like" over my discussions they are fee to do so.

For quite a long time, I haven't posted my new discussion. Once I posted several, however, I received few responses. In reality, I am not a talkative person. Maybe it is the same on the net. I find it difficult to make a discussion that is interesting, attractive and profound as well. So, now I like to read and respond to others'discussions.

Hi there! Like you I'm very eager to see if someone responds to my discussion as soon as I post it. Sometimes it takes time even a day. But sometimes it takes just seconds to receive a response. It really depends on the topic you post. But it doesn't mean that if it takes too long to receive a response your topic is not interesting. Sometimes I think it also depends on the time. If its morning on your side and it happens to be midnight at the other end it might take hours to receive a response. I don't really wait for a response. What I do is after I start a discussion I try to respond to as many discussions as I can so I won't waste my time just waiting. Ciao!

I try to check them as I come on here but then I try to see that I have responded to anyone who has happened to respond to me, but I don't always manage to do that, maybe I will get better at that in time I don't know. anyway I like to see what people are saying, sometimes I am impatient to, and just start another discussion or go look at what others have posted, Hope you have a great week

I have post question before, but so far I never see the response for me. May be the topic I put not interested enough. May be after that, a bit longer later I will check again the response for my topic.

Yes, especially if it is a topic, that I want an answer to fast.. But from now on, I try to be a little more patient. And so, I will give at least 10 minutes, for my question to be answered. I do know how you must feel to wait, for an reply.. It does get irritating at times..

Hey, it does bother me sometimes, but it depends, some will get reponses the moment i post them, others may not get a single response for months, maybe they will never be responded. I don't set notification of this in my email nor do i check my unresolved discussions. I can see from the right of my sortie and if one's just received responses, it will appear on the top. This is easily found when i open the home page. Good luck and enjoy posting here

When I was new here, I do look at the discussion I started as often as possible. Since I don't a respond very quick, I just don't bother now. I just look at it after one day. If there is a response, I am happy,if there is no, I am sad.

Yeah I get kind of impatient when I post a discussion to see who responds. I usually go to the link on the side disscussions that I have started to see if anyone has responded. I wait likt a hour before I check my discussion.

I have e-mail on my cell. I enjoy reading responses. I've only started two discussions but have responded to more. I love how diverse, and sometimes deep, the discussions can are!

That's a really good technique. And I'll have to start using that one. Most times, I pop into the computer room for five minutes when I get an idea and then leave to take care of my daughter or play some games with her. By the time, I get back two or three hours later, there's usually a couple responses. And once I start responding back, the ball starts rolling!
