A teenager boy was decapitated because he wandered off in an restricted area and he was decapitated by the Batman Rollercoaster ride. News said that he was looking for his hat. I found this story to be very sad indeed. His funeral was Saturday. It was very sad to hear something like this. Six Flags is trying their best to put up more signs so that this type of crucial thing will not happen again. It saddens my heart to know that this tragic accident could have happened. Some would say that it was the teen's fault for going into an area that appears to be off limits whether there was a sign or not. The teen must have had to been underneath the ride for this to happen. What is your opinion on this sad story?

Hi cream97! I have heard about this in one of the mylotters here but I never knew that it is because he is looking for his hat. If I remember it right, it was mentioned that the teen is trying to pull a prank on his friend. But whatever reason it was, it was still sad and tragic that the teen has to end like this. I am really sorry to learn of his fate and I hope his family will be able to somehow move on. Take care and God bless!

What a sad sad story. I feel really sad for the family. This should have never happened and would not have if the boy would have used common sense. He should have never put himself in that kind of danger over a hat. I could not imagine though the greif that the family must feel. My heart goes out to them.

.This is sad but the boy was 17 and had to climb over 2 fences to get near the roller coaster. I feel so sad for his parents that were there with a church group. These teenager just think that nothing will ever happen to them. They just don't stop to think. It must have been horrible for the people on the ride too. One article that I read said that he was after a cap that he had lost when he was riding it earlier. Kids need to learn that those restricted ares are that way for a good reason.

Yes, I would agree as well. My father told me yesterday that he was looking for his hat as well.. I did not heard this myself from the news.. But my father did. When I was a teenager, I would not go to so far as to wander off like this.. Just thinking the thought of being underneath a ride like this, would scare the living daylights out of me! I could never go further than I am supposed to. Not trying to sound big headed, but that is how I feel. That hat would have just have to be lost.. Now if I really wanted the hat, I would have let the ride controller know, after the ride had completely stopped. Then I would have him go to look for it..

It sounds like something out a movie. It is sad that he got killed in such a strange way. I think that theme parks take every precaution but sometimes things happen and it sounds like they need to do some more safety control.

Yes, it does sound like a part in the movie.. It reminds me of a movie that I have seen, Final Destination 3, I believe.. The teen's got thrown off of the ride they were on.. What a scary site to see!

Its is sadly the teen's fault, he had to know the roller coaster was there, YOU CAN NOT MISS A ROLLER COASTER!!! So he knew the possible dangers of trying to retrieve his hat...
