Enjoying the healing from my new vibrant orange calcite!

After recently going through emotionally choppy waters in my life, have navigated to a new rock. In the Exeter area of England, had the signal to close in and land on this very healing crystal!!!
After setting eyes on such an impressive shore, had to do a bit of research... According to 'The Book of Stones', co-authored by Robert Simmons & Naisha Ahsian, "...Orange Calcite gets the energy moving and encourages one to see old dilemmas in new ways, so that the solution is right before one's eyes..." It particularly helps with issues of sexuality. I want to cuddle it right now! So now it is sitting on my lap, as I type away!
In fact the assistant in the shop, told me how much she loved having the crystal in the store! They had just gone through a refit and so the premises appeared so much more spacious than I had ever seen it before. And after not so many minutes was literally drawn to this stone!!!
And so the stone has been with me, just over a week now, travelling around Devon and Somerset in the South-West peninsula of the British Isles in the country of England.
So, do you have a story to tell of a recently acquired gift from the earth?
NOTE: There is some argument over whether the mining of these semi-precious minerals are harming the earth or "Gaia" (the earth mother), I believe we are in a time of evolution, where the use of crystals in developing human spirituallity is crucial and will be of use in these transitional times towards 2012. Therefore, Gaia is contributing towards the 'whole'.

I have a small collection of crystals. Many of them I have bought myself and others of them have been given to me. One of my green and purple crystals was bought in a delightful little crystal shop that I found when I was in Romania. I hope to get more crystals overseas but it is not always easy to see where they are sold. When I was in Lithuania I recently saw much Amber but it was really expensive. I bought a tiny piece of Amber and then when I was in Latvia I bought a few small crystals to make into pendants. I think I have got Lapis, Jasper and Quartz. I think that it is wonderful to do crystal healing. I like Calcite and have got some lovely pieces of it like Golden Calcite. For my birthday I was given a crystal and I will look it up in my crystal book. Is it Gray Calcite I wonder.

It is lovely to have crystals as gifts and to acquire them on travels. When appreciating these pieces, they can bring back many happy memories. Always remember a piece of blue Lapis Lazuli that I bought in Argentina. It had quite a chunky cut to it, plus a miss-cut that makes it quite individual.

I don't know much about the healing power of crystals but it's good to know they work for you. I do believe we are all part of the same connected universe and I can understand how natural crystals can give us back some positive feelings.
I often get special feelings from being near the sea, in high rocky places, in ancient woodlands, and any place where I can get inspiration and assurance from nature.
You are in a beautiful part of Britain and I think in the counties of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset you will find there are some very spiritual and mystical places. I'm sure you will feel a great benefit from being in that lovely region of the British Isles.

Thank you! I see that you have recently added 'crystals' to your list of interests. Do you have a particular crystal that is catching your imagination right now? Just out of interest, I would mention that Glastonbury is not so far away from here and is full of crystal shops, there is also a very good store in the Cheddar gorge, that sells some quite unusual specimens. Yes, this is a lovely region, that can get taken for granted at times... it's no wonder so many south-easterners like to retire down here!

There is a local shop selling them here in Southsea. I shall now go in and have a look and ask some questions. I don't know that I will be able to afford to buy many of them.
I have been to Cheddar Gorge too.
