Is it the end of Roger Federer's reign over tennis?

Roger Federer has been a champion for quite some time now, having conquered all the major Grand Slams except the French Open. He has sheer class and quality which makes him so good. But, having seen his recent match against Rafael Nadal in the French Open, he has surely lost some of his charm. Rafael Nadal has taken over the tennis arena with such confidence that he is side-stepping everyone else. I think Rafa is the new guy whose in and will give a tought fight for Federer even in grass and other courts. Watch out Federer!

Its true Roger Federer has been a champion for long time. For every rise there will be a fall. So he is going through some bad patches. I am sure he will bounce back strongly.

I wouldn't like to place my bets even at this late stage in the game! It could be anybody's! They have both done so well and worked so hard that they both deserve the title. I will be pleased regardless of who wins. Raf is a hottie and has done well considering his injuries, but Federer is the living legend who deserves to keep the title too! :-)

I think it is not the end for Federer...not yet. I do believe he will rethink his strategy with Nadal now that Nadal has shown he can conquer grass. Before this, Nadal just couldn't for whatever reason, but now Federer has seen that he will need to step up his game in order to reclaim his "ownership" of the grass court, I am sure he will do his best the next time. It's too bad he couldn't fight back one last time to get his 6th straight title to beat Bjorg's (...or whatever his name is) record, but still he has already broken many records and he will continue to shine for a few more years. The announcers seem to think this loss by Federer signals the passing of the torch but I believe Federer has a lot more in him, more championships to win...just like they were giving up on the Williams sisters, yet Venus and Serena continue to shine at Wimbledon...it's not over yet for any of these great champs. Kudos to Nadal for wanting it more than Federer and winning his first Wimbledon title, but I really wish Federer would have beaten him for the bigger record of 6 straight titles.

hi rajeshfgh, Nice match those two played. But Nadal did come out ahead of Federer. It was a tough game for both. It was awesome watching them go one for one. Very nice match. Federer will be back!!!

I have been watching the game today and I must say I really really want Nadal to win. I think there has been other tennis players as good as federer though. We always seem to think the most recent champion is the best. But he is good, Federer.

Yeah, sadly though, I guess it seems inevitable. Rafa's gonna rule.
