Does your cat knead its paws on you all the time?It seems to me like cats are remembering their kitten days when they did this to their mothers to nurse but, maybe it is a sign of love from your cat or that it thinks it owns you, what do you think?

Cats knead (and purr) when they are feeling secure and contented. You will also notice that when they are kneading that their tail is moving about slowly. Purring, however, does not always mean contentment. A cat will also purr loudly when ill or upset. But the kneading is indicative of satisfaction with life. lol

It's a sign that your cat thinks you its mother! Apparently they did that to their mother cat as kitten to encourage her to express milk for them to feed on. My parter always refers to my cat as 'bedding down' when she kneads him/me or whateer she is about to sleep on.

This is one of those things that I love so much! It's like cute and quality time for me. A lot of time mine will do this when just trying to get comfortable on the couch or whatever, and I just love to watch it. I really always have. Sometimes I just can't help but petting them when they do this, and then I feel bad because they finally look so cute and comfy about to take a nap and here I come along and wake them up. I'm not sure what it means, but I definitely love it when they do it.

I think it is a sign of their kitten days. I've had cats do that to me. My current cat is not a kneader though. He often sits by me but in terms of kneading, it never really happens. My other cats have been kneaders however. It is really cute when they do that but when they stick their claws out watch out.

From what I've heard, kitten knead to their mothers as a sign that they want milk. Later when they reach adulthood, the cats associate kneading with that same feeling of want and comfort. Both of my cats do that whenever they settle down in my lap. For the most part I wouldn't mind it, except for the fact that they have very sharp claws! lol

I do not have a cat. But I usuasually drop on my neighbour to say hi to their cute cat. I like the cats those will knead their paws on me, cause it makes me feel that I am very important to her and also very warm in my heart.
