Can anyone explain blogs to me? I love reading some of them, and I think I'd like one of my own. Are there parameters within which one must remain? Are there preferred or taboo subjects? Just how does this work? Thsnks in advance. I know a lot f people who are good at such things find it a major chore to teach a newbie how it's done.

Blogs are very interesting. They are almost like a mini-website, and are a home page for many people. Depending on who is hosting the blog, there are almost no parameters. Most people tell about what's going on in their life, inside their blog. A lot of times, blogs are used for a specific part of someones life. Like, my family had a friend who found out that he had cancer. His family kept a blog, to keep everyone up to date on how he was doing. I do suggest that you get a blog if you like writing. Personally, I like writing, but I'm not a good writer. I don't keep a blog, but I know a lot of people that do. Luke

Thanks, Luke. I shold have guessed you'd be 14! I think only kids really understand all these things. School will reopen in just over a month, so I guess I should wait and ask my students to help me get it going. I thought I knew everything when I was your age. Now I think people your age just might really know everything. We old folks are just coasting along on memories and trying to keep our heads above water!

Hah, I'm not much of an expert on blogging, I prefer web design. I'm sure whenever I get older I'll be asking my grandkids how to work the hovercar, and the other technologically advanced stuff of that time. :] Happy to help, Luke

they are a sort of a mini - website wich are created by people around, you dont need to know any programming or code for creating the website, its automatically created, you just need to fill in the content, that is what you want to write about, there are certain parameters, it would be better of you choose a topic which will interest the public greatly, otherwise you might not get many visitors, you can check my website from my profile, may be you can get an idea. The most preferred is the blogger, just go to that site, and you'll find out what you want

I am also new in blogging. For me, blogging is writing something you are really interested about and you want to share with others. That's why, my blog is about mylot and how to earn here. I offer tips on how we can earn here more. (If you have time you can visit my blog, the link is in my profile page). In blogging, you must have a certain theme in your blog. So for example, my theme is mylot, my posts are all about mylot. That creates an identity for your blog. There are really so much to learn. But it's fun to have a blog. You can even earn money out of it.

Blogs or weblogs are services that are on the web that allow people to some sort of write their daily experiences. It is very similar to a journal the only difference is you reach a wider audience. A lot of websites offer these services, you may choose from, Blogger, Typepad, Wordpress, Xanga, Livejournal. Some social networking sites offer this service too like friendster and multiply. Writing in a blog is quite similar to writing in a diary so I think it's quite simple to use. So I hope you start writing a blog too.

I appreciate the way you're putting me at ease. I'm sure I can do it. I just have to figure out how to get it started.
