Dogs versus Cats!...

In your opinion are dogs smarter than cats - or are cats smarter than dogs? Many people have different views on this. Many people say dogs are not smart just trainable and that cats have an independent mind. Hey I really don't know one way or the other just interested in hearing varying opinions on this. One thing I do know is that some dogs and cats are smarter than some people I've come across!

That's interesting info. And yeah you're right people can ignore you too but that doesn't mean that they're not smart. They can be well aware of what they're doing, and just doing it because they don't like to be told what to do - or just because they feel like ignoring you LOL...

Man the Mighty Dogs seem to be taking the 'Smart-Lead' over these Cool Cats! Heathcliff will not be happy about this At All LOL...

I think that there are two types of people : 1. The dog-person 2.the cat-person. I am a dog person. I love dogs and the way they show their affection and bark with their tails wagging when I get home. I love the way they show us unconditional love. I think that cats are okie but they're too "pasive" for me. Does that answer the question ? :)

i have no idea which are smarter, dogs or cats. that's because i'm really not a fan of animals. i'm even afraid of dogs. would you believe that? but i would want to overcome that fear and have a dog for a pet. i think it's pretty cool to have a pet. and if i'll have a pet, i think i'd want a dog more than a cat. i really don't know but maybe dogs are smarter than cats. as they say, dogs are a man's best friend.

Well I understand that you may be afraid of some dogs as many people are. Some dogs are nice though and pets overall are a joy!

I'll go with dogs on this one...They will never be called man's best friend for nothing. Yeah cats have independent mind that's why its hard to train them, but for dogs, they are actually smarter and fast learner animals. Dogs are also skillful that's why its easy to train them. Cats also has different capabilities, the thing that I really like about them is they are very flexible. Although they are different in traits, they are still cute and lovable animals.

Well some say just because dogs are more "trainable" for people to get them to do what they want - this doesn't necessarily mean they're smarter. So I guess it all depends on what each persons perception of "animal smart" is.
