The wettest place on earth.. Cherrapunjee receives the most rainfall in a year.. What kind of reason that the experts who are in Cherrapunji will deliver after analysing the reasons, comes a secondary thing. http://www.dayafterindia.com/july108/18.html It is said that the average rainfall is about 11,952 mm for past 35 years.. It is been a decreasing trend since 2005 here.. and for the current year.. the rainfall recorded till June 30 is 700 mm less.. Certainly this is due to ecological disturbance brought by man.. I don't understand what other special reasons will the analysts deliver.. Of course, they have to submit some reports for the fee they receive.. Really disgusting.. I wonder when man will stop this kind of activities.. Deforresting at his will.. on one hand for making money.. and advising afforestation on the other side.. and here again the politics play..

Hi saivenkaat802003! We have brought ourselves into these kind of situation. Abusing mother nature with all the pollutants and this have affected the ozone layer too. This has much effect on the climate worldwide. There is also much hypocrisy in the government, not only with yours but with almost all countries all over the world including mine. Our government prohibits deforestation but on the other hand there are a lot of illegal loggers that are still in business. How can they get away with it? Of course, there are a lot of negotiations going under the table. Bribery is the key, money keeps many government officials fat and rich. Take care and God bless!

Dear friend, You have summarised what is the root cause of this problem in a crispy way.. It is worrying when we see that the minds of these politicians are so, self-centered..and never bother about the generations that may live after them..

There are weather changes being noticed all over the world. Another recent one in India was Delhi which has had its share of unconventional rain for the month of June/July a record from the temperature point of view after 32 years. There have been serious ecological changes to our atmosphere, and these are only going to keep on increasing. Man's intention to only be concerned about money and power and over utilise and disregard the natural resources is showing the results.
