My Life is precious.

Our Lives are so precious to us , that we would be willing to trade anything just to stay alive. When we have nothing in life, no family, no friends and live in total misery and povery , still our lives are precious to us. A man who is condemned to death for having taken the the life of another still wants to live. Every living entity wants to enjoy this special thing called life, and would hold on to its life and would show some form of a desperate bid at the time of holding on. Yet when our lives are so precious to us , why do we give scant respect to any other form of life be it human or non human when we think it does not matter to us ? Who an what gives us the right to choose and determine which life, human or non human can be taken to suit our ends ?
