He knows not to and it hasn't been done today but I have moved the furniture around and discovered a hidden piece of artwork on the side of my leather sofa. Any ides on how to remove it? Or do you think I should keep it on there as a designer piece LOL? Ellie :D

LOL! You are funny ellie, I love that humor! Maybe that will be a great remembrance of what he did..LOL! I have no idea on how to remove that...I remember our pillows in the living room, a friend of ours place her chewing gum and until now, it was there!

Hi Checapricorn got this off a site Lilaclady posted in response one, hope it helps to resolve your chewing gum issue. Step1 To remove cheweing gum from fabric, try using ice, and freezing it, then scrape it with your finger nail, or butter knife. Step2 Soak the garment in vinegar for 30 minutes. Step3 Launder garment as usual. Ellie :D

Well Ellie at least your sofa is now unique! lol I would try using a little nail varnish remover sweetheart but test it on a small spot where you won't see it first! Remember to take a nice picture of it before you try and remove it! lol xxx

Hi Ellie-I have a leather sofa but get a liquid that removes all stains from it especially ink-if you have a leather suite shop near you perhaps a shoeshop may sell it but there is a liquid you can get to remove it-blessings and huggles littleowl

Just get some leather cleaner and softly rub the stain out, don't rub to hard or it will take the finish off.

Ellie, I like the sound of the artistic piece left as a rememberence. Good attitude, you will always have the sofa but wont always have a son in those young creative years. Might want to plan on getting a new sofa when he is ready to leave the house and giving that one to him. Cant help with any suggestions for removal. You just might be raising the future Van Gouh. Have a great week. Amikin. :)

Well apparently Van Gogh is an ancestor somewhere along the line, don't know how true that one is and he had his home visit from the school today and the teachers were very impressed with his drawing skills. Ellie :D

gosh I don't know, I know they say you take out ink with milk on clothes, but I don't know if that would do the trick for a sofa.

Search on internet for Leather Ink Remover. I did see it once in the store before. I am sure you can find one in UK. I try always experts first with my furniture.

I have to go down town at some stage over the next couple of days so will call into one then and ask, taking a mini break from myLot at the mo to try and get the garden sorted but keep getting drawn back in my tea breaks LOL. If no luck on sofa yeak have it framed as he diefinitely is artistic could be worth a fortune in years to come eh as his first masterpiece. Ellie :D

Hairspray gets it out of clothes but I am not sure about leather! You don't want to discolor it so I am not sure but maybe try just a little first! Make sure Picasso helps so he understands where his little bits of art are best saved for the future! LOL

Hi Jill yes a few have suggested hairspray but as it is leather I need to be a bit careful I think. I am going to try an eraser and baking soda first and see how it goes. He does know not too but this is an old masterpiece not recent but I have just noticed as have moved the furniture around so not too drastic as I can always move it back again and hide eh! Ellie :D

hi ellie333 if I remember right you can remove ink off most things with plain old hairspray and a clean whitecloth, should work on leather also, also have heard flyspray but never tried that one, also have heard that toothpaste will remove ink from plastic so maybe also leather? hope oneof these works.

Hi Hatley, Yes you remeber correctly with the hairspray removing ink off most things but I am a bit hesitant to use on leather. I will do in an inconspicious area first to test it I think. Ellie :D

Not sure about real leather, ellie, but I know you can get biro off vinyl by using flyspray! It sounds strange, but works. Flyspray also gets sticky residue (after peeling a label) off things.
