Greeting Cards

Do anyone out there own or know someone who rents a greeting card rack in a store. I would like to start with a small store as oppose to a large store in a mall. I write my own greeting cards and I want to purchase a rack and put it in a store. How much should I pay for such a service? I will be doing all the labor (printing, shipping etc.) Do I need a contract with the store owner? What if someone steals a card, would the store owner have to pay for it? If anyone have any information, please let me know. Thank you. By the way, this is my first discussion on any discussion board. Bye...

Most of your large stores.. ie.. Wal-mart have vendors who place cards. There vendors are American Greetings and such. So your chance of getting in there is very small. The dollar general chain also have a card vendor and probably could not help you either. If you are set on doing this yourself you might try a local mom and pop type store, if there are any left, place a small rack on the counter so to deter theft. Theft is handled different ways all determined I believe by their coporate offices. You might try submitting your work to some of the card companies and take a lot of the risk out of the equation. If you are determined to go it alone talk to your local retailers and then talk to an attorney before you sign any agreements. Good luck and welcome to my lot.
