I tried naming my favorite Science Fiction Movies for a friend a few weeks ago. I kept finding my list getting longer and longer. If I asked you to name your top 5 all-time favorite Science Fiction Movies - could you do it?

Hi. I can name a few that I like very much, but I don't know that weather the count will stop at 5 exactly or not. Let me try though- 1. Independence day 2. Men in black (1-2) 3. Minority report 4. Paycheck 5. Terminator I think that will do.

Hi Frankie. Ah! a science fiction film connoisseur! Surely you don't mean Sleeper with Woody Allen, where he finds the abandonned Volkswagen Beetle after the Nuclear War, turns the key and it starts :-)... I would have expected you to say 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was 10 years ahead of it's time and was very expensive to make back then. Close Encounters of the Third Kind is always worth watching. I'm not a fan of THX 1138, but the cast is good especially Donald Pleasence... Congratulations you got Number 3 of my top five: War Of The Worlds (The Original). If you saw War of the Worlds as a kid, you never forgot it. There was something very threatening about those necks and heads of the machines, which look a bit like street lights. Even the color effects which they were using -the strong greens and reds - seemed to be engrained on your memory. Finally the story itself by H.G. Wells is a very good one and even Tom Cruise's new version was not bad, mainly saved by the story of course.... So thanks Frank, I now have Blade Runner, Dune and War of The Worlds from my Top 5.

Well, I haven't seen as many as I know a lot other people have. But I guess my list would go like this, and in no particular order: 1. Gattaca 2. The X-Files movie (looking forward to the upcoming one) 3. Galaxy Quest 4. Tron 5. Independence Day

As luck would have it - Gattaca was on TV this evening and I sat down and watched it after seeing your message. It was good except for the cheesy swimming with his brother and a lack of tension. Tron is a classic - a breakthrough. Independence Day is good fun - its a variation on a theme which is in my third favorite science fiction film **************

Hi, The terminator movies are all great. My favorite is Terminator 2. But I believe James Cameron has some better ones which could rightly belong among the Top5 science fiction films of all time All the best. UMart
