Are Gas Prices Affecting Your Vacation Plans?

With gas nearing $5.00 a gallon, more and more people are looking for ways to drive less and conserve gas. Are the rising prices going to keep you home this summer, or are you still planning a road trip for your vacation? We will likely do things near our home like fish or maybe go camping or to the lake rather than take a long trip. It just costs way to much for gas now. What about you? Will you stay home this summer or will you take a trip anyway?

Our plans are still possible but it's going to depend on how high gas prices go and how much the final cost of repairing the transmission in my husband's truck is going to be. We'll find out the latter in a couple of days but my vacation isn't until mid August so we'll have to wait until them to make the final decision. We are hoping to go back up north to see family but it's 1,000 miles one way, which is a lot of gas usage, even if we rent an economical car. Because the cost is expected to be so high I'm not looking forward to the trip as much as I was and would probably be happier staying home and relaxing instead of worrying about running up the credit card.

I can't remember my last vacation.

The gas prices are keeping me from seeing my parents as often as I would like. They live about twenty miles outside of the city I live in, and my father has a pickup that takes $80 to fill up.

We had cousins visiting from Germany so we took a driving trip anyway. But we are going to have to cut corners other places because of rising costs.
