Getting Gross to watch TV while you eat....

I have been dillligently using coupons for free meals or BOGO (just means 2 meals with one coupon!) and have been eating pretty much for free this last week. I bring it home to make my own ice tea (cheaper) And while I eat I will turn on the TV - usually soap opera time anyway. And after a week of eating while watching - I don't do that anymore! I notice the commericals are all about dirty health habits, health diseases, health problems, hygiene issues, cleanliness.... like we are the most filthy creatures in the world! Sure does take the appetite away and makes it hard to eat the food! Do you notice this in daytime TV?

LOL I was thinking about that same thing last night but for another reason. I don't watch much tv during the day, and not much at night either, but at diner time sometimes we have the tv on. Last night we were watching a rerun of NCIS which of course can become a bit gross to watch if you're eating LOL It doesn't bother me, but my mom got a bit green :) As for the commercials, now that you mention it, you are right, they can leave us with that gross feeling. Or they could if I really looked, but I seem to disconnect as soon as they start so I hardly pay attention for the most part LOL

I can't remember the last time I watched prime time - I watch Ugly Betty but that is getting a bit to se*ually disgusting and Survivor but only for the challenges (am sick and tired of the bickering and arguing, but the challanges are amazing what they come up with to accomodate everyone!) And other than that, not a show do I watch. But DIY and FOod NEtwork and those similar channels HGTV, Modern Marvels, History Channel etc. I watch from time to time. I've been watching sales and buying sitcoms from the 60's and 70's - back when comedy was hilarious and actual comedy. I laugh through the whole shoW! THese days it isn't even funny! Good thing they have piped in laughter!

I don't even watch a whole lot of night time TV, but I don't think I have ever in my life watched day time TV. Seriously, I don't even know what it is, unless the DangerMouse comics that used to come on at 4:30 count, lol, somehow I think they don't. Apparently, I'm not missing much. I don't like TV because it is linear and not interactive. I guess I just don't need to be entertained, and in truth, from what people say about the shows they have, it probably would not interest me in the least.

I hardly ever watch local channels - just nothing on. Junk, trash, s*x and violence and who's sleeping with who. I love watching Modern Marvels - they tell about the most amazing things to the common ordinary ones and it is amazing at how amazing those common things are!

I can't say I'e noticed that lately, but there is a good reason, and the reason is that I do't have a T. However, I wouldn't buy it if I did notice it. By letting all that crap rule me I am giing the adertizers too much sway over me, and I won' allow tat. My suggesion is to judt try and ignore it.

I don't watch t.v. anymore, but when I did, I only watched it at night, but at night they also have some gross stuff on t.v too. I remember losing my apetite once and the food was sooooo good to, but I just couldn't take another bite.

I usually only watch the soaps - nothing worth wasting my time on in prime time unless it is HGTV or FoodNEtwork or TLC or those kinds. There are some there, but those seem to have show related commericals - like hte home improvement shows have Lowe's and HOme Depot and John Deere and such.

When I had cable, I loved watching the D.I.Y. channel. I love watching and fantasizing about having a beautiful home like theirs! There is a lot of great stuff on tv, but I am such an American Idol freak that after it's over, I have no interest in tv until next year...lol.
