Have you read this movie? Did you like it? I am currently reading it and I realy enjoy it. I decided to read it since I loved the movie so much and I am happy I decided to. I usually don't like Stephen Kings work so I don't usually read his books but this one is very good.

Yes, I read The Green Mile when it first came out in small parts. I think it was split up into five or six little books and one was released each month. I love Stephen King - and for once they did a brilliant job of the movie. Sometimes they wreck SK's books because they are too detailed to get everything into a movie properly - but The Shawshank Redemption was a fantastic movie, too, which did justice to SK's story.

You should! It's actually called 'Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption' and is in a book of SK's short stories. Can't remember which one at the moment ...

I think they are both realy similar, usually I find books to be better because they go into more detail but it is not the case with this one they both seem the same to me.

I have seen the movie first and I tell you it was something. Then after viewing the movie, I got a copy of the book from the library, and sat down to read it because for one, I had some unanswered questions on the movie and the book answered them well. I got a bit more insight as well and to be honest, I am not a Stephen King fan, but I enjoyed it.

One more thing, the movie and book is closely related to one another. Of course, in the book, like I mentioned, some things I understood it more, but both paralleled each other and the movie stuck to the book 98%.Not all things in the book was in the movie, but it was close. Probably one of the few movies that way.

I have both read the book and seen the movie. Actually when I read it it was when it came out in the 6 serial novels. I really enjoyed it.
