I was born In the maternity hospital in Colchester, Essex England. I haven't lived in that area since 1975. The last time I went back was in February 2006 and I no longer have any family or friends there. How about you?

When I go back home, it is typically to visit family back where I was born. Often, when I see my childhood home, it makes me a little sad. First, not all of my memories are good. But, on top of this, the house as degenerated since it became my Father's primary residence with my mother (who would otherwise clean it) primarily living nearer to her aging parents.. now only one parent still living.

The house I grew up in was badly damaged in a fire a few years back. last time I saw it, it was surrounded by scaffolding as the repairs were under way. I have mixed memories of the place. We moved into the place when I was 3 & lived there for 14 years. My mum lives near me in another part of the country now.

I live about 1hr and 1/2 away from where I was born. Never lived there. But I drive through frequently. Usually on the way to see my in laws.

I was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and I don't remember it at all. My family moved to Miami, Florida, when I was too little to care where I lived. I went back once, when I was about 12 or so, but I wasn't the least bit impressed. I've heard it's become a really nice place, but I don't think I know anyone there, so I don't really feel anything pulling me back.
We had a summer house on Cape Cod, and I was there every summer until I left home to be on my own. My wonderful childhood memories are primarily from Buttermilk Bay, Hyannis, Martha's Vineyard, Plymouth, Falmouth and Salem. Some day, I plan to drag my husband there, and I hope the memories are'nt all that's wonderful! He wants me to see his birthplace, but he's from Cuba, and I refuse to visit a country that won't allow its people to be free.
