Strike?!

OMG! I just heard the news that our union is planning to go out on strike because the Board decided to reneg on the contract we worked so hard to get. How do people survive without an income? What about those who don't strike? We're public school teachers -- what about the kids? Not only will we be without income if this happens; every kid's family will be totally disrupted. All of us are really hurting in this economy. Rising costs for benefits and a few little tricks the Board has played in the last couple of years have brought our takehome pay down frighteningly low. If even that were gone, how would we keep on keeping on? Has anyone out there survived a strike? How? Is this 1930s all over again? =(

Yeah that is true! Having a strike does disrupt everything, I just hope everything will be resolved on your side. I really am not against strikes except that it does affect the way things are going on the sides there are plenty of other sectors who are depending on your services. But on the other hand, you do have an issue you need to resolved and your group came to a point that you and the other party is not accepting so I think your move is justifiable on your part.
