I have seen this quite often where people just sit around doing nothing and yes they do pray and say if God wishes it will happen without taking any initiative from their end. I for myself believe that God helps those who help themselves. U do your 50 and leave the rest to GOd. But u sit around and hope something happens, and even if God does try to help, its up to us to take that first step. i remember a short story thaught to us in sunday school. There was this man who sat idle whole day doing nothing and hoping God would do something for him. He missed many opportunities that came his way, which were again sent by God to him. Once there were floods in this village where he lived, and the people there were told to move to safer places, and everyone moved, except for this man who climbed his rooftop and sat there saying God would save him. Now a boat passed by with some villagers and they offered him help, he denied them saying God will save me, they left after lot of persuasion. Then another boat passed, he denied again. The last boat offers him help and he denies that too. In heaven he asks God why didn't u save me. God tells him, i came thrice but u denied me all the time.

this is soooooooo true. alot of the times people sit around and think that God is just gonna appear and hand them things without them having worked for it. i totally agree with you because hard work shows God that you are ready and willing to work for whatever it is that you need and that you will also be ready to work for Him when the time comes. People need to stop sitting around expecting miracles to happen and get up and start making things happen so that God can help them when the times get hard and they are unable to go on, on their own. People need to also realise that God sends blessings in disguise and He Himself comes in disguise to help us in our times of need. He does not always comes as we expect Him to come BUT He always comes.

The devil feeds on idle minds! He comes when He needs to not when WE think he should! Wasting our time, that was given by Him, is actually wasting His time. I believe everything works for the greater good and somehow it draws one closer to Him.

Hi i am Angellaca I agree with you 100% and i have heard that story too. Remember that God also said, by the sweat of your brow you should eat bread, so you must go out and work, even if the work you do, does not let you sweat, you still work to make a living. so my brothers & sisters don't just sit and wait on the good Lord. Go look a job! and see what God can do.....move mountains
