I just feel disheartened by people out there who discriminate or belittle Filipinos...
They tend to focus only on the negative attributes and events in the lives of Filipinos forgetting the fact that there are 8 million Filipinos all around the world extending their helping hands and being contented with any meager amount of pay they receive from their selfless services.
Just imagine a world without Filipinos: in homes without house-helpers and nannies and care givers, in hospitals, in nursing homes to take care of the elderly, in schools, in hotels, in supermarkets, or even in the big oil companies of the Middle East!
Yes, there are other workers out there but can they compete the way a Filipino worker values hard work and diligence? I hope so...
Most of us Filipinos are not lazy (maybe there are few), we are just poor because we have been deprived of the resources due to us....

I have many friends from the Philippines, personal friends and professional colleagues. They are very nice people, and I value the relationship very much. As you said, they are definitely contributing immensely to the economies of all the countries where they are working.
Best regards to you !

It may be true that Filipinos are poor, the greatness of our country cannot be measured only by the achievements and economic gains it has but also by its people's zest to endure life's challenges.
