some use used water from sink to flush the toilet. some use rain water from roof drainage to water the plants. some use soapy water from washing the dishes to wash oily utensils I wonder what other ways people can save water? Please share you ideas :)

this may sound totally gross, but if more than one person is going to the bathroom in succession (say after a road trip or whatever, we dont flush in between - it saves water for the environment...

sounds good to me :) it saves water and time too :) I remember these new urinals for gents that do not require water. It's an interesting design that prevents any evaporation while allowing fluid to just seep through. There's some kind of semi-permeable material. Its all white ceramic from where I see it. the sign says "this saves 150,000 liters of water a year" it's amazing. thanks for the comments... 'hope to hear more :)

We don't pay for water as ours comes from a well, but I do still try to conserve. Whenever possible, I wait until I have a full load in both the washing machine and the dishwasher to run them to conserve both water and electricity. We also purchased a front-loading washer, which takes less water and spins it out much better so that it doesn't take as long to dry.
