How many of you on here believe that the KJV BIBLE is the only true bible in the english language? Or do many of you prefer to use another bibls such as the NIV or something else? Why? I personaly believe that the KJV is the one and only true bible. That is how I was brought up and that is what I believe. I also believe that other bibles like the NIV takes out some of GODS words. What is your opinion on this?

I use NIV and even RSV and NLT. I don't use KJV cos it's difficult to understand, and I have read that there are better translations now as we have better manuscripts and moreover languages change so I think we need to adapt to the changing linguistic structure without changing the meaning of the text.

Believe this one or not. The KJV is written at an 8th grade reading level while the NIV is written at a college level. Taking that into consideration how is the KJV harder to understand when it is written at a junior high level.

I use the KJV also myself. I was always brought up that the KJV was the only true bible. Dont know about the other bibles because I dont use them. But, I think that all the bibles are ok as long as they have gods words in them.

Most of the time I like KJV. Sometimes I'll read NIV, but I agree that KJV represents God's Word the best.

Hi babyfirefighter, I was brought up with the KJV as well, but I think the other versions are just as good. I read King James because I love the language of that day, but many of the younger people can understand the other versions better, and I guess that is the important thing in the end. Blessings.

KJV is the only one I read. I have been shown evidence by preachers where some things have been omitted from the newer versions. One incident of this is in the first part of Luke if I remember correctly. The KJV speaks of the blood of Christ...the newer versions omit the reference to the blood in this case...there are other examples I could list once I researched them again to find them. I would have to say that I agree for the most part that the KJV is the only true bible...

I like the NIV although I was raised on KJV. I think the NIV is easier to read and God speaks to me no matter what bible it is. I believe man can not change what God lays on ones heart. So, the truth will still be heard regardless of the translation.

While I would not go so far as to say the King James version is the only true Bible in English, I do prefer that version. I do not need any translation into "modern english" I already know how to read thee and thou, etc. If any Bible works for a person, then that is the best Bible for them
