Is technology making us loose our creativity ?

Last evening, I had a discussion with a good friend who had just completed a training session with a group of techies. As part of the training she had conducted an exercise for the participants to loosen up and get to express thier creativities and also understand & express different kinds of emotions. The participants were just not easily able to express thier creativities and emotions related to the same easily. On the other hand the responses were excellent whenever the questions were related to logic or testing thier IQ. I initially passed it of as maybe a geek thing, them being techies. But on reflecting on the situation a little more, I realised differently.
If your ask most young kids today on what thier hobbies are they would talk about internet surfing and playing video games. Manyof them spend most of them time around what we conside our technological innovations being the internet, the mobile phone and so on.
There seems to be a diminishing interest in what we would have been considered as creativity and hobbies in general, something which uses our right part of the brain. Fewer and fewer people seem to be showing interest in hobbies like model building, paper craft or other artistic hobbies like painting and so on.
Am I right in this assumption, or do you think differently.

No, actually I think that we are being more creative thanks to new technology, we are seeing things and coming up with things that have never been done before.
