How friendly are you?

When you go to the mall, church, or grocery, do you find yourself smiling at cashiers, security, sales people, and others in general? Would you talk to a stranger about work, the weather and life or do you follow the age-old advice of never talking to strangers? I'm a friendly girl myself so I always chat up with sales people about their work, clothes, and the store. I don't look down on them as some people tend to do. I know a few friends who just don't want to associate with store employees so they snub them, but not me. I feel that any kind of work has dignity, so I make sure to smile, say thank you, and do small talk when possible.

Oh,yes,I think I am friendly.I will smile at people most time, but I don't like to talk to strangers, because I am of little shy.I am afraid of talking in front of strangers. So it often makes others feel I am not friendly enough......

I don't really get chatty with random people, although I'll smile at a cashier as they ring me up. And if they happen to want to talk, I'll chat along with them. I'm a bit more chatty with people who are doing me a service that takes a bit longer- like if they happen to be doing my hair for me.

I would avoid strangers, but would talk sometimes to people who ae in some way connected to the place i am at. Even If I would not talk much I would make it a point to be polite and express a few words while leaving.

I will speak if you speak to me. I will hold open the door when you need to go through it. But, I won't strike up a conversation and let you in on any and all of my personal business. I try to be very nice and kind, but I will not go beyond my limits.

I'm not really friendly or outgoing most of the time. I really just keep to myself and get my shopping done, or whatever it is I'm out for. I don't look down on those people, there's no reason to. They're working people just like the rest of us. I only look down on them if they have a bad attitude and act like the customers are interrupting their day.

I'm not exactly the most chatty person most days. Some days I am more talkitive than others. But I always acknowledge the employees that are waiting on me I say hi smile say think you and even wish them a great day. Other times I can go in and have a conversation and make them laugh. I think it just depends on how my day is going.

hi mimico yes I try to smile when I am out in public as I feel so much better when I see others smile back'at me and it does not cost one red cent either. I agree all sorts of work has dignity and we should all resp;ect each other and learn from each other. A smile is a frown turned'upside' down, lol.

I've noticed as I've aged (I'm 50) the less strangers I know. I will start up a conversation with most anyone, anywhere. Is it a wise thing to do? I don't know. I am who I am.

Same with me, I'm not hesitant to start up a conversation with a stranger. I smile first, when she respond, that's it. Maybe because I'm into sales and I have to be friendly always. But to tell you honestly, during my younger years, I'm really afraid to talk to strangers.

i thought of my psychology friend's comment when he looked on my face the other day. he said i have a friendly structure of face and really i am. but i told him i'm not the type of friendly person who talks first or a lot. i do entertain but normally i don't start the conversation.

I'm an outgoing person and friendly but am bad when provoke. Well, anywhere I go I can always find friends. Some of my close friends now, I met them during my training from miles away and some gained from a thrown smile in the street.I don't care of their status in life as long as they are also friendly. Sometimes I reciprocate a smile in the street and answer my boyfriend's who is he/she question.... "I don't know". I always put a smile for every person I cross in the street or everywhere coz I don't know that it might be special to someone I came across with. It makes a difference.
