This was taken from the edge of my front yard facing South. This storm dumped about a half inch of rain in less than 30 minutes. Small hail and high winds as well. I love the layered look of impending storms cloud formations. Do you love storms? Do you like watching the storm roll in? Do you like getting out in a storm for photos etc? I sure do. When was the last time you went out playing in a rain puddle? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Contrary to most, I oftentimes watch as a storm pass by. I just prefer the winds. The howling sound most especially. But I would feel the opposite when it starts to rain heavily at the same. I become real scared at that point. It's really destructive when strong winds are combined with rain. We don't have hailstorms here though, just lots and lots of rain and typhoons. We just had a typhoon a couple of weeks back and the eye was a few kilometers shy from passing through our city. It was around 5 in the morning 'til 8 when the winds were strongest. It was ok for me since it was mostly winds. The rain came in afterwards. It gets alarming since our house is vulnerable to flooding.

Up North at the farm where theres no city noise etc I love listening to the wind as it whistles and howls through all the trees. it is a soothing and calming sound to me up there. Typhoons are dangerous due to the water. here in Minnesota USA we get the severe tornados that do more damage but to a smaller area as they don't stay on the ground long. Some have even had winds as high and higher than a hurricanes winds. Glad you're safe as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi Grandpa Bob! Guess what? We have another storm coming! It won't pass directly at us though, but it sure brings a lot of rain. :( Thanks!

I love being out in heavy rain, providing I know that I've got somewhere warm and dry to head to straight after!

I sit on my front deck during some small storms until I start getting too wet. I love watching the clouds roll in and out and taking photos of them a lot. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That's a good picture! I love watching storms, but it's been a long time since I've played in a rain puddle. I like to sit out on the patio and watch the rain, or take a drive in it (when I can afford the gas!).

That's another pretty pic, Grandpa Bob. Sometimes I like to see storms rolling in too, especially if I can stay home and take a nap, lol. I don't remember the last time I played in a puddle but it was probably a long, long time ago

Your storm just hit here a lil while ago but no hail. Just lots of rain in an hour. Thankfully, the creeks and river is low so they can handle the excess water. Last time I went puddle-jumping was with my daughter a few years ago at Walmart. We had just checked out and it started pouring...hard. It was a hot summer day so the rain was warm. We went running thru it jumping into every puddle along the way to the car with the rest of the customers watching and laughing. By the time we got in, 5 other people followed suit. My daughter got back out and joined them, laughing as she jumped in each one. I'm still a kid a heart, no doubt about that!

Well Grandpa Bob, it's storming here right now. My little boy is scared of the thunder. The rain looks awesome though- we need it. Maybe afterwards I will put on my rainboots and go puddle jumping!

Ya know, when I figured out that I got sick every time I went out and got my back wet and chilled (don't ask me why) I quit doing it. I can stand in a light rain and be fine as long as my back is dry. I do like to watch storms arrive, I love clouds, I love to smell the rain - and we've actually had a bit the last few days. I am SO ready for summer to be over - after 22 100º+ days last month....

More Great shots AGB and i love them! i took some photos of the lowering clouds etc covering the mountains from our chalet when I was on holiday the other week but I can't really get about to try and take the good shots - I'll leave that to you! The kids were out playing in the rain last week and had a blast jumping in and out of puddles! xxx

In CA our storms are cold when it rains most of the time so I do not like to play in the rain. When we went on vacation on Arizona we had snow and rain. We spent a lot of time in the rain one day at a while animal park.

It's been a very long time since I played in a mud puddle. But I do love watching an approaching storm.....and I don't mind sitting through it if it doesn't last too long! I don't go out though...not even for the best photo in the world! LOL

Well its been raining all day here so far, it started last night. I like storms, but not the severe kind. I like to hear the thunder rolling in the distance, and hear the rain as its coming down, its real soothing to me, it makes me want to sleep in...haha. I don't go out and take pictures of it tho. The other night I should of tried to take one, there was this storm about 200 miles from our house, and we could see the lightening from here. It was wierd, there was this big white cloud, and the lightening in it was going nonstop, just flashing like crazy. Then we seen on the weather that it was in Ark. thats about 200 miles from us. I kept wondering what was going to happen when it reached here, but it was going the other way. I thought about taking a picture at the time, but I didn't know how well a picture my camera would take. I don't when the last time was, that I played in the puddles, maybe I should go do it now...lol.

I like watching the storms roll in. I go out and stand on the front porch and watch the storm. I like the sound of the thunder and the rain coming down. The last time I went out playing in the rain was last year I took my shoes off and walked through the puddles with my grandson.

I love storms! They are so relaxing to me. Thunder ~ lightening ~ Rain. I don’t much care for hail though. I don’t take pictures either--- I just like to listen to the storm and rain and watch it too. We go out back in the garage (to the lean to) and we sit in chairs and listen to the rain. It’s a tin roof on the lean-to. Relaxing! My daughter and I go out and run through the rain all the time. We don’t go out if it’s thundering or lightening! Just in the rain.

The last time I played in a rain puddle has been way to long. We have finally been getting much needed rain here and I love it. We have not been getting storms though like you mentioned, glad all are safe there.

clouds - another view of the clouds
Here is another angle of the clouds that I took pictures of the other evening. I talked about this in another discussion of yours and since I can only post one image per posting I thought right away of posting another angle of the clouds, in this discussion since it is still about the storm you had the other night, well actually about 2 months ago, since this discusson is two months old. We never ended up getting a storm that night. These clouds are actually soft and fluffy white clouds but because it was a sunset the coloring of it came out red, looking like a fire. I was mesmerized by these clouds for about a half hour till the sun went down more and then it was gone. But I was happy I got a couple pictures of it since it was so pretty.

Wow that was a lot of rain, we had huge downpours yesterday a bit like that, apparently we have Canada to thank for it as that is where it came from. Luckily, it waited until I had come home from school with the kids before letting it go. I am not a lover of storms and the thought of being out in one fills me with dread and you definately will not see me playing out in a rain puddle, just hate getting wet!
