Most people in the Philippines have relatives abroad. Have you planned migrating too?

My sister already migrated to the US... and one of my sisters in law is already in the process of migrating in Canada... by the end of this year they will be moving... but in my case... i don't have any plans... since i feel that the Philippines is my only home... i can never leave it... maybe to travel to a different country... but i will always return to the Philippines...

i am a full blooded filipino, born and bred in the Philippines, i emigrated to the UK 6 yrs ago and contemplating on emigrating again to australia in 2 yrs time, that doesn't mean i love the philippines less or i plan never to go back again because i do ... my hubby and i knows that come retirement time that's the place to go... we actually have a small retirement place near the sea in mindoro. making the most of our productive year in other country, experiencing all what the otherside of the world has to offer does not make me anyless a filipino. it's a matter of choice and i chose to give my child an opportunity to maximise his full potential in a place where gov't is supportive of its people, where equality actually exist, i mean the common person can enjoy whatever the rich is enjoying like education, security, travel, doodad that i would have to wait a lifetime to acquire if i am in the Philippines and a lot more... surely there are things that are only in the Philippines but its ok because i get to go home when i want to anyway... there is nothing there to stop me except the price of the flight home. My parents and inlaws come to visit and we go home in between times so its not really that bad. i want to move to australia because cost of living there is a lot lower than here, salaries and benefits are more or less same, weather is a lot better and it's cheaper to go home to the Philippines from australia it being nearer.

I've had occasional flitting thoughts of migrating, but somehow I never made any step towards that, no solid plans. Once or twice, I also thought of working abroad, but same thing - I never really put that into action. The most that I dream of now is to visit other countries as a tourist.

Living in our country is very hard. Many says that what you can earn abroad , you can't earn here.Progress is slow.Much as we love our country, but we will not stay for the same condition

Working yes! Living permanently, I will just pass, there is no place like home. I still love the Philippines despite what we are currently experiencing right now.

If i will be given a chance to ride the next flight going TO ANYWHERE... I will, I just hope and pray that someday I could work or migrate in other countries to better help my family!

Before, I really want to go to U.S. I applied twice for a tourist visa and it cost $100 per application, so that was $200. I was denied then. Now I think it's $150, am I right? My desire to go there subsides, besides I don't have the means to apply again. But if given the chance, why not?
