Do you watch some movies with the subtitles?

Or do you wish they'd dub the movie well so that others that don't speak the language can actually understand the plot?
The only movie of this one that I liked the was the one that Jet Li did that was his last one...well...supposedly. Anyway, Rodriguez's first movie for the Mariachi Trilogy is all in Spanish and though I would like to get the point of it, I can't because I'm trying to read and watche at the same time and it drives me nuts!

I do. I like trying to match which word means what. It's a learning tool for me. That's because I am obsessed with languages. In order to read and watch requires a skill. When I first got into foreign films it was hard at first, of course. And now I know exactly what's going and at the same time I know how to say things in other languages.

I never thought about it that way. Maybe next time my parents want to learn Spanish I'll let them borrow my spanish subtitled movie...(insert evil laugh here).
I'm not good at learning other languages, though I want to give a try to Japanese.

I can't stand movies with subtitles! For the exact reasons you have. I just can't seem to read AND pay attention to the movie at the same time. I always feel like I might miss some important things such as body language, someone getting slapped or kissed. LOL

It's even more annoying when you get to the fighting scenes. You really want to see if this character is gonna come out victorious, but you CAN'T because some idiot decided that it would be great fun to have everything some other language!!

yes i will watch films with subtitles, as i really love Japanese films, especially when comes to horror films, there is more atmosphere, one of which was Ring..
Seen the jap version of that and the American version :)) loved the film.
As been other great jap films i have seen, but cant remember the names of them now... but i will say i don't think id bother to watch film with subtitles unless its Japanese :))
O and of course there is the Japanese anime movies hehe
