I am a stay at home mother of 3 wonderful boys. My husband is disabled due to back surgery. I am looking for ways to make some extra income from home so that I can take care of him and my young children. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

There are some legitimate paid survey websites out there. You just have to do your research before hand, as with everything else. Send me a message and I'll let you know about the ones that I think are worth it and then you can check them out.

You responded to another of my discussions on renting or owning, and I see your last name same as mine, what got me about this one is when you said your husband was disabled because of back surgery, could it of been an on the job injury, because mine is same. We are from Louisiana, may I as where you are from.

We are from Louisiana also. He got into a wreck back in October of 2007 when some idiot pulled out infront of him. He ended up driving over the car with his truck and it flipped his truck sideways throwing him into the arm rest. The other drivers insurance only covered up to $25,000.00 so we were put into a really bad situation. Thank God we had health insurance through his job.

RDugas, I have heard of a place online and on the radio around my town. The website is www.incomefromhomeusa.com. It brings you to a site called Online Business Solutions. For only $10 you can join their company and work at home. I am in the waiting process of getting my package from them but hopefully I will be getting it soon so that I can work from home. I stay home with 5 children while my boyfriend goes to work daily so I feel your pain. I hope this works out for you and if I get my package before you do I'll let you know if it's legit or not :P From what I've heard it's a very legit, good, honest business to work for :D Thanks for the post :D

I'd like to know too if this one is legitimate. I am always so leary of the places that you have to pay something to get something. Please keep me updated and let me know if this is legit or not. I stay at home with 4 children myself and we need the money too. Thanks so much!

RDugas and Schulzie and anyone else reading this post, I have found another website where you can look for work at home, make a bid (i.e. I will work 40 hours for you if you pay me $5 an hour, etc), and wait for work to find you. It is www.elance.com I just went there yesterday, created a profile (if you want a better profile you do have to pay %9.95...I just went for the free one for right now), made a few bids, and left. Now since it's the weekend I may not hear anything in particular until early next week but it seems pretty legit. I went for the Admin Support section beacause that's what I know but there is also Real Estate and Legal, etc. Check it out and let me know what you think :D

I dont know why kind of skills you have but if you can go to elance.com. It is a website for freelancers. You can bid on jobs. By bidding I mean you tell the buyer how much you want to do the job. It is free to sign up, but you can upgrade if you want for a small fee. There are other websites too. Just do and internet search for Freelance Jobs. Not all are free, but there are a few. It takes a little bit of time to set up your profile, but if you get the job it is worth it. This is a way to really make money, if you have the right skills. Hope it helps I know how hard it is to feed three Boys. Mine are eating me out of house and home. Good luck.

Try a simple search on sites like careerbuilder and monster.com for a stay at home position. No matter what you do or how tempted you are my advice to you is not to pay a dime to join any site that promises work. It doesn't make sense to pay for work. When you go to a job interview do have to mail them a check later? No so don't pay anyone for anything. My mom has a little hobby on the side with ebay that I know she really enjoys. She goes to yard sales and thrift stores and buys little nick nakcs and sells them on ebay. It can be time consuming but like I said it's just a hobby for her. She makes some online friends, a little money and she's happy so that's why i mention it. Every now and then she finds some real gems and makes some good money. If you do end up paying to join a website and you pay them through paypal and you get scammed you can actually go to paypal and basically force the people to give you a refund. If they don't give you a refund they could get kicked off paypal and lose their only means of collecting from the people they try and scam. I write a blog about this kind of stuff which is how I know. Hope this info helps you at least a little bit. If you do pay and get scammed and need help just give a shout.

I have to disagree with you. I am a stay at home mom of three that has found a real career online. No, you do not pay your 9-5 J.O.B to make money but show me one person out there that has started a business that has not invested a dime into that business. If you are looking for a push button overnight get rich program, there is no such thing. But if you are willing to invest a little to start a business, and are also willing to invest time to learn and then time to work at home on your computer in order to provide better for your family, then you are looking for something that is actually very real and tangible. When I first joined the internet, I did not make money right away and signed up with a program and I never heard from the sponsor again. I now have learned that what makes people think that programs are scams, aren't the programs as much as it's the PERSON you join. So join someone that is going to train you how to succeed online. I went from knowing nothing to now having several streams of income online and supporting our family because my husband is a traveling minister. I chose to keep at it until I figured out how to do it. Internet marketing is a real and rewarding business. I'll be happy to show anyone how to find the success I have found.

My suggestions are all freelance writing sites, so hopefully you like to write... Helium, Triond, Associated Content are all sites where you can get your articles published and have them generate revenue for you. Triond tends to generate more for an article. What Associated Content has going for it is an unfront payment for your articles, provided you are a citizen of the United States. Helium tends to generate much less revenue, but it does have a Marketplace where you can find some writing assignments. Constant Content is a site that lets you place your works and the price you want for it. If someone is interested, he buys it.

Hi there. I am currently with a newer company (only 1300 members) that offers all the training and support you could ever need to be successful. There are NO out of pocket expenses, unlike MOST sites of this sort on the net, and the amount of money you could make in a very short period of time is rather impressive. If interested, please check out the link in my profile. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you and your family the best of luck!
