A Near Hit Auto Accident

[b][/b]Rather than saying I had a "near miss" accident that many have said, I had a near hit accident...well, actually no accident, but almost. One nice afternoon, I decided to go to the Amish store south of town. I hadn't been there yet since I moved here and thought it would be nice to go and see what was offered there. I was driving south on the street that leads to out of town and observed a car inching out from a side street. The lady driving the car had her view block by another vehicle that was parked at the side of the street. When I saw the car inching out, I slowed down enough in order for the lady driver to pull out onto the street. She turned onto the street coming north. There was a pickup truck directly behind her and the driver of that truck [b]pulled out directly in front of me!!![/ b] I had to swerve my car towards the back of his truck, onto the side street from where those two vehicles were. I did not have my turn signal on to give any indication to any driver that I intended to make a turn onto that side street. The driver of the truck was up high enough that his view was not blocked by the vehicle that was parked at the side of the street that I was on. It was clear to me that the driver of the truck was not very observant. Had I not seen the car inching out and then slowed down for the lady to be able to turn onto my street, I surely would have hit that pickup truck!!!! Anyway, after getting around behind the pickup truck and then continuing on down the street, I was a little bit shaky. That was about the closest I've come to hitting someone. Has any of you myLotters had close calls like I had?
