Hi, I emjoy reading, so I'll read whenever I have the time. My favourites are crime, horror and mystery stories - I can't remember how or what started my interest in these types of books. It could be during my school years, when I read Enid Blyton's series - I can't even remember the name of the books, but it was about 5 friends who always had mysteries and adventures together.

When I discover a new author I like I will read all the books they have written, when I can find them.
This year I have been reading a lot of crime fiction, last year it was literary fiction, before that it was classic literature and biography. I change my reading habits all the time.
I do read books reviews and anjoy listening to discussions about books on the radio, but choosing which book to read is very much a personal choice. What my friends like to read are not necessarily the books I will enjoy reading, and my friends may not like the same books that I do.
I would only listen to a recommendation, or recommend a book, when the other person likes the same authors and enjoys reading similar books to those I enjoy.

Reading is a habit which I have cultivated from school times as my parents were also avid readers. My day starts with reading first hindi newspaper then English newspaper. At worktime I am always reading books on medicinal plants and if I have to buy some chemicals or glasswares then I do enjoy reading catalogues as well. In the evening time I usually read magazines with stories in it. But when I am travelling by train then I buy novels, either recommended by my friends or at times if the title of the book attracts me then I buy the book. I will suggest that authors Paulo coehno, Khalil Gibran and Robin Sharma are worth reading.

I pick a book by the mood I'm in. Sometimes I want romance, sometimes suspense, sometimes a mild thriller. I really like John Saul. His books are a little scary without being gross and gory.
Sometimes I will read for days on end stopping long enough to put a load of laundry in or starting supper, then going right back to my book. Other times I only read when I lay down at night.
I guess I'm a mood reader, I like to read to get away from the lifes reality. I don't want to deal with what's going on in the world today and stuff.
