I never liked the mouse pad on a laptop. So the first thing I did was buy me a wireless mouse and I love it. It has a part that plugs into the USB port that recognizes the mouse. And it works just like a traditional wired mouse.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and I did nothing except plug it in and the mouse worked fine. I have had to put batteries in it a couple times. Just be sure you get the best heavy duty batteries so they will last a long time; otherwise it will eat you up in batteries.

Yes, its still possible. All laptops have a USB portal which enables you to connect any kind of gadget just like a mouse. You just have to install the software of your newly mouse and connect it to the usb port and walla.. your ready to go. I also use laptop and I also have an extra mouse for it but still most of the time I just use the built in mouse of the laptop for scroll.

Yes you can. There are several USB mouse available that fit easily and are easy to use. Your laptop may also have a PS2 or some specific port ofr a mouse.
I had a Dell laptop and used a USB mouse most of the time as the mouse is so much easier to use than the touchpad and less straining on my fingers!

You can buy mouses just about anywhere. A good place to go is Circuit City or Best Buy because their staff usually are able to direct you to whatever you are looking for. I would recommend buying a USB mouse because pretty much every computer in the world had at least 1 USB port built in.

I'm not going to read all four pages of posts, so I apologize if this is a repeat to an earlier answer you may have received. I myself have a Toshiba Satellite. It obviously has USB ports, but I don't think that your model may have any ports for a mouse, mine doesn't at least. There is one port on mine that LOOKS like a mouse's plugin, but it isn't lol. I still don't know what it's for :/ Anyways, just get a USB mouse, you can get them for cheap if you don't need a supreme one lol.

it is possible to use mouse with laptops. you can choose from usb or wireless connection. i am not sure with your unit if it has to disable the trackpad before you can use additional mouse. but here, we have no problems with other laptops here...

Yes, of course you can! I went to Wal-mart and got a wireless Microsoft mouse to sue with my laptop. The usb adaptor is small and fits on the side of my laptop. The actual mouse uses one AA battery and I usually change it about once every 3 to 4 months. Having a mouse makes it easier for me to be on mylot.com, pogo.com, and for me to do my online classes. As long as you have a usb outlet then you're good. Best wishes!

It wasn't expensive at all. I think mine was about $30 to $40 and is really nice. I'm sure you'll find one that is affordable and that you love.

You can purchase any mouse for laptop. Because navigation on laptop is for fun according to me. You can purchase a wireless, or blue tooth mouse.
Wireless mouse needs more power compared to the blue tooth.
Buy a blue tooth mouse if money is not the issue.

Yes, it is definitely possible to use a mouse with a laptop. The most common are the USB mouse. Most laptops have USB connections. You can just simply plug it in and you can already use it immediately. Just try to find out what connections your laptop can have. USB, PS/2, Serial, Firewire. The most common are USB and PS/2. What is the brand/model of your laptop?
I really don't like using a laptop's touch pad. I feel less control and I'm doing a lot of motion compared to just using a mouse. Take care!

I remember, when I had been having problems with my touchpad I bought a USB mouse. I connected it in the USB port on my laptop. If you want to use a mouse, you can change your pointing device settings and you must choose mouse settings. That's what I did. Good luck.

well, doesn't usually when we buy laptop they give us a mouse ???
you can easily connect a mouse using the USB port. And if you are thinking of getting a wireless mouse, I suggest you think again, cos I don't think you'r going to use or navigate your laptop from a far distance ya?
