The city of Atlanta is considering making the wearing low slung jeans a violation of law. * While the seeing of people's underpants is annoying, I don't consider the problem worthy of legislation. We have bigger problems like the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan, runaway inflation, not to mention real crimes such as rape, murder, and assault.

considering that the police have caught several criminals because their stupid "fashion" tripped them up, it ought to be a law that they HAVE to wear them

I think that's a riot! * "How'd you get caught?" * "Lost my pants..."

Although this does seem to be a bit over the top, I am actually in favor of this law. This situation has just gotten way out of control. I am tired of seeing these young men's sometimes dingy underwear all the time. Its disrespectful, and these young fools just don't care about it at all. If they knew where the trend was actually started, I bet a lot of them would quit doing it. But then again, this generation y doesn't like to listen, so maybe if there is a stiff penalty put behind it, maybe we won't have to see their behinds when we walk down the street anymore.

Who will pay the penalty? If the 'offender' is under age, it will be the parents. The parents are also not listened to anymore by some of these 'children'.

Very sensible. Make the teen accountable. * I get tired of hearing about parents being socked with fines or whatnot because of these brats that don't want to do as they are instructed.

Well, maybe if the law is modified so the ones under the age of 18 have to do community service (I thought about locking them up, but then you are spending taxpayer money) instead of a fine, then the message would get through, with out involving the parents of unruly children. The teens themselves would have to attend the community service, therefore leaving the parents out of it.
