After 19th of May 2008, it has been prohibited to smoke in any closed area in my country. There are many smokers around and it was just too hard to believe that it would come true. I doN't smoke but I really get annoyed when I sit in a cafe which everyone smokes and also poisons me as well. Even in the cafe of my school it is so hard to resist the smell of cigarette everywhere and the place which they prohibited smoking was just 3 times smaller than the smoke free zone. Now, the ban is applied but I just can't see its effect everywhere... Yesterday I went to a cafe somewhere else and saw many people smoking and still poisoning me... I just wonder why everyone can cooperate when it comes to acting againist smoking ban but they can't do the same thing againist real bad issues...

I bellieve smoking is a personal choice and I choose not to be exposed to second-hand smoke. I for one agree to the ban of smoking in public places. I have an allergy to smoke and it is very dangerous and difficult for me to being exposed to someone else's second-hand smoke. I appreciate the sacrific the smokers are making to help keep everyone a little healthier.

being allergic to smoke definetely provides more danger. I think they should consider that kind of situatins more carefully. I just can't understand why they waited so long before banning smoking in public places when there are already many people who are allergic to the smoke...

Smoking is really prohibited in public places. Are you talking about internet cafe. If you are then I'm sure it's not a suitable place for smoking because of the aircondition. If the owners of the cafe wont scold those who smoke inside his stablishmens. Then you have no choice but to stay away from them as possible. I really hate people who smoke especially in public places. As if they don't care how others will be affected. Smoking really sucked. I just wonder why others are enjoying it.

wow i did not know they already did the ban in Turkey.. When i was there this year in June.. People smoked everywhere, in tourist stores which i thought wasn't very nice, smoking near clothes they was going to sell to the public.. But i heard from them that there will be a ban from next year, but i suppose that is for the tourist stores, that there will be a ban on smoking.. I know the turkey airport certainly changed from last year, the smoking ban was on lol which upset a few once went though to the departure lounge as couldn't come back out hahah They was NOT happy at all.. The ban will take time i think.. it is a big adjustment, because lets face it, from what i have seen, the population of smokers there is far greater then uk and many are very heavy smokers.
