"What would you do?"

I didn't think I would get this personal on MyLot, but would really like some opinions. (I'm not good at responding to all the responses, but I do read them all and appreciate them.)Okay, I was raised by my grandparents (in Canada) I grew up under the impression that they were my mother and father and called them that. I'm not sure how old I was but I remember finding out from a cousin that my older sister was really my birth mother. I didn't really seem to care I think, but long story short when I was a teenager I asked her who my father was and she gave me a few different answers- like oh I think he is dead, she said she didn't know, then she gave me a fake name. Long story short, when I had my own children I became really curious and sort of hounded her about it. She got really mad and defensive and gave me 3 names but said I really think its this guy. I'm not judging her but I actually got a picture of the one guy she really thought it was from doing some detective work but never spoke to him. Anyways, one of my sons has an illness and nobody else in my family has it and I would really like to know if it is hereditary.

I would definateleywant to know who my father was under normal surcumstance. I think it is very important to find out now for youtoget his medial history of himself and imediate family. Your mom should understand this. My dad was raised the same way. I know one of my aunts is really my grandmother but noone will tell which one. At least I knw the family history medical wise. Good luck and I will say a prayer for your son

Flowerchild I would ask my grandparents to tell me the names of your real parents as you need to get their medical history in order to take care of your son and they should help you to find names and addresses. you have a right to know their medical history as it could affect you as well as your children and you do need to know it. and know it now.
