Are you a blood donor?

I am just wondering how many of the mylotters are blood donors here?
I am a blood donor, I am relaltivly new at it tho, i have donated 2 times and am due for my 3rd donation in around 6 weeks.
Are there any seasoned vetrans out there lol?
would you consider giving blood and what are the reasons behind this?

Yeah graceandowen, I am a blood donor and I have donated 3 times. I hope the blood donated could help someone urgently needs it.
In my place the blood donation campaign usually will be launched before the festive season. It is believed that more accidents would happen 
at that period, so that the blood bank ought to collect more blood for emergency use.
I was told that blood donation is good for health, as it could speed up the metabolism of the body. 
A regular blood donor could enjoy certain privileges like advantages in medical treatment.

Hi graceandowen, thanks for awarding me the best response.
Since there are advantages for a blood donator, I hope more healthy people would feel happy to donate blood to those people who need it urgently. Sometimes a single pack of blood could save a precious life.
As what I know O type is the universal blood group. It can be donated to all recipients of different blood groups. Anyway it is quite unfair that O group can receive only blood of the same group.

I am a blood donor, but this time i'm upgrade to plasma or platelet donor which is contains in your blood. More often u can donate compare to blood. Usually after 2 weeks u can donate again. Myself have donated 24 times, and i'm happy to do so coz if i'm not doing tat i will feel not comfortable to my body

oh rite we are not allowed to re donate until 16 weeks here in the UK i have yet to donate plasma or platlets but would like to

Well, I cannot give Blood myself since I have Health issues that have prevented me from being able to give any Blood for many yrs. now. I would Love too if I could, but who wants Bad Blood? I also feel that any person who is able to give Blood needs too from time to time, as you never know when there could be a shortage and you might need some Blood and wished you could have helped out there as well.

No, I can not donate blood, I wish I could. I am anemic, plus I am on a lot of medications and it is very had for them to find my veins, they do not even like to try any longer.I have very bad veins.

Yes, I am. I had donated it some seven to eight years back. I hadn't donated this year because I had suffered from Jaundice.
