You get home from work only to find a messy, crowded house — not exactly a place where you can unwind. Cleaning up doesn't have to be a big chore if you do a little at a time. It is said that an organized home can reduce your stress. Do you believe this? Being pregnant and tired alot, I try to do 1 or 2 rooms a day.

Oh yes, an organised home can help in reducing stress. A clean comfortable place always give people good vibes. Also it certainly will not add to your stress. The thought of cleaning up or knowing that you have to do it, will only add to the stress. As you are pregnant, you have to take it easy, so do it a pace you feel comfortable with. You will get a lot of peace of mind once it is done.

yes I agree but when you are hooked up to something? you will forget about cleaning, just do it later. It is true that a clean house is can reduce stress. It is a good feeling to stay in a clean environment but, online thins is very tempting.

yes snowy, we are the same, I am very much hooked up with the net. I want to put up more time on my online earnings than in cleaning the house. lol.. I have hardly enough time to plan the meal.. because I am always in my computer. lol.. As if my time is not enough plus I am working and I have kids..Well, cleaning is always the last part. I do it in week ends.

Hi ersmommy, I was thinking about starting a post on cleaning up myself. Yes, cleaning up is a real bother when you are tired out. But, I am not worried about throwing things away. In fact, I love doing that and clearing up some space. I don't exactly throw things away, but I give them away to those who might use them. :) Cheers and happy mylotting

Dear friend, My room is very much messy and by that time my mother would ask me whether to clean when the servant comes. If I feel that I find very difficult to sleep in that messy room I would call the servant the rest is their work. Moreover I hardly keep my room messy, moreover I try my best to keep my room tide and clean, which is now. At times it gets messy and that is when mother calls the servant to do the cleaning in my room which I do not like as I like to clean my room myself.

There isn't too much you can do if you're pregnant and especially if you have another child or children. I worked full time and Saturdays were cleaning days. The only problem? As I cleaned, it felt like the kids were right behind me making a new mess. Now that the kids are gone; I got rid of most of the things I owned through donations or needy family members. Having less stuff means having less stress, for me!

Yes, I agree. It's nice to come home to an organized house after a tiring day and just relax. Some people find unclutter their homes with one general cleaning rather than fixing things a little at a time. The clutter pile up day after day and soon they need one whole day ot two to fix everything up.

Hi ersmommy, I believe and agree about that! I can't concentrate to what I will do if things are scattered, dusty and unorganized.I will be irritated oftentimes if I will not clean and arrange properly..I made it a point that after hubby leaves to work, I will start cleaning and doing all the things that I need to do before I can do Mylot and other online stuff that I enjoyed!

I believe that unorganize home add up to stress. The situation is made worse when no one seems to be at hand to help in organizing things. It looks like a pigsty.

I am afraid to throw things away, but my husband is changing me in this area. We do have a lot of stuff and too much for the house we're in. some days I just get sick of it and load up all the toys or whatever and take it all down to the basement (which is a disaster). I feel so much better after i remove all that stuff. Somehow it just doesn't stay that way, it's a lot of work. Someday I'll get it figured out i hope.

Hi It is right that an organized home will reduce stress and you may feel happy when you enter into an organized room after long hours of work. I do the general cleaning everyday but can not give attention to each room every day. It is better to do one room per day and then there will be less cleaning to do everyday and the home look clean and tidy always.

Sure I believe in this. When I see my house crowded and unorganized my mood become horrible, I hate to see it like this, I do not get to sleep that day untill I clean the mess

Usually, I dont like th throw things away. But if I really dont need it, Ill think about it for a few times and if I really don't need it, I will throw it away. I love cleaning. I mean, I dont like doing dishes and the laundry 24/7 but I like to clean. Ill clean my closet and all my clothes and do the laundry, vacuum and wash the dishes. I dont like living in a mess. When I see a mess I really dont want to be there so I try and clean it as fast as possible. I think that living in an organized home does help reduce your stress. I mean, you have nothing to worry about. If it's clean, you dont have to clean it anymore. And your house looks good which is a reflection upon you. Cleaning doesnt hurt anyone. I think people should clean their homes for atleast an hour a day. I do, and Im still alive and well.

Well, for one I could say that I'm a pack rat, but I could definitely say that I'm not afraid of throwing things away. Another thing is that I'm a collector of sorts; namely mugs, stamps, old coins, different shapes of candles (fruits, veggies) feng shui items, used call and text cards from Smart, Sun, and Globe, petite items like small tin cans, smooth marbles, tiny pebbles from rice, and perfume bottles. So you could definitely picture that I'm not that 'clean as glass' at home. However, I believe that a clutter-free house is definitely a home. Also, I think that one should maintain the cleanliness in the abode so as to develop an environment conforming to the ideals of feng shui. This also helps in avoiding quarrels within the family and stagnant energy loitering in your property and in a bigger picture, in your entire life. Personally, I go to office five times a week. And during weekends and after office hours, my husband and I would do the household chores together, along with taking care of our daughter. We live in a rented house together with my three siblings. I can't bring myself to always clean up and organize everything because at the back of my mind, this phase for us is only temporary as the house is not our own. We're still in the process of paying off all our outstanding obligations on loans and with credit cards, and eventually being able to save up for the fulfillment of all of our dreams and more importantly, for our daughter's future education which is only about a couple of years from now. By the time we have our own house, I'm absolutely positive that my husband and I are going to face the clutter and organizing issues. Hopefully, we'll be realizing all of these by next year. Wish us luck.

I hate throwing things out most of the time. My house is very cluttered. When my grandma passed away my mom inherited alot of her furniture. Although we dont really have room, it was a possesion of her mothers and she will never give it away. I dont mind giving things away that I dont really care about anymore..or clothes that dont fit, or old magazines or stuff like that. I just hate throwing stuff away thats semi-new or that might be usefull at some point, like makeup ive barely used, etc. You never know when your going to find a use for it..

I am the original packrack who has moved zillions of things zillions of times and still did not throw stuff away as I should have. I guess you could do a little cleaning at a time but I would rather do a lot at one time. so I would not have to keep cleaning day after day after day. Clean most of the house in one day then come back in threedays is better for me that is.

I have always believed in a "Place for everything and everything in its place".. An organized home can reduce stress.. When you have a messy house, it is hard to relax when all that you see around you is something else that needs done.. My house is messy but I can relax more when my housework is done and everything is in its place..

My best policy is learn to give things away. Otherwise you will have a textile store and a shoe store in your house. Dont hold onto a dress you will not put on again or a pair of shoes you know you will not put on again. Organize yourself and have an organized mind.
