Why can't all computers be 2TB

With the 'Terabyte' becoming so cheap as space is concerned. Can't all manufacturers put 2TB in the retail product. Because overall don't you think it would be slightly cheap in the long run..

Two terabytes of hard drive space is ludicrous. Almost no casual PC user needs that amount of storage. And really, that much storage would probably run up the cost of the PC by at least $200. I definitely think that for the time being, a simple 250GB hard drive is going to sustain most of us without unnecessary costs or heat production/energy consumption. I don't even know if there's a single 2TB drive on the market yet, and so you'd probably need to have 2 1TB drives or 4 500GB drives, which is just lunacy.

No one uses that much...Because not that many people keep a computer that long. There's some people out there that when a new OS comes out they need to get a new Computer when their computer is capable to hold the new OS. Yes at the moment they only sell 2x 1TB but i Have more Because i use the 2TB has my External storage drive. Because i do not use a C Drive. I only bought 2TB because Of the amount of music files I download onto my computer. At the moment I have 30mil songs and 2 TB can hold up to 50Mil.

well everyone don't think about long run while purchasing computer for personal use. Everyone knows in 6-7 months there a new processor launched more efficient and faster then the earlier processor. No matter what you purchase in years to come they you will definitely have replace it. if we only talk about Hard disk memory then putting 2 TeraByte of Hard Disk will really cost some extra and every do not prefer to have lots of extra memory. Only few require extra memory like people work with multimedia or animation. they create configure while keeping ever thing in mind.

I do believe the prices may go up, But why do they have to go up? To create the product won't even cost them about £100 but they charge the public like £400. It's all un-needed charges they add on top for profit and VAT. If manufacturers were to lower their prices, People would be able to have a lot of space without having to upgrade. Even if more technology comes out, I don't think many people will use over 1TB unless software becomes bigger and file sizes become bigger. I do agree with what you are saying though.

I just have 80GB of disk space on my computer and I would be happy with double that or maybe 200GB. Terabyte would be nice but I have no application that requires that so I would just hold off on the terabyte thing until I find some good use for it.
