Yes I read this Novel and its very good novel. It can be read by any person irrespective of the ages. The concept of understanding the language of the sands and the camels is very interesting. I also like the word maktub.

I have heard a lot about this book and have written it on my list of books to watch out for, so I hope to read it some day but have yet to come across it... except I saw it in someone's mailbox when I was delivering catalogues! I was tempted to take it, but obviously someone dropped it off for a person in that house. I will find it one day. I am surprised it wasn't in my father's collection.

I have read it, and I really liked it. It was a nice story telling us that where God has put us, the treasure is there to find. At least I got this message from it.

Yes I have read it years ago and from time to time I read it again. It is just a simple story with simple tenets but with its simplicity it has captured the hearts of millions all over the world. It's not the destination that matters but HOW you get there...and learning every little thing from all the experiences you encounter along the way. "It's the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary; only wise men are able to understand them." "If you really want something, the universe will conspire to make it happen." I loaned by book to most of my friends back then and one friend sort of "kept" the book for more or less two years... but I no I am reunited with the alchemist already and well, I still read it whenever I feel like it. *I even made a painting of a woman with sand dunes in the background...my own version of Fatima waiting for Santiago...
