I am an English language learner, and i find i am very poor in listening ability. At first,i take part in some forums about English learning, but i find it is too hard to hear the news such as VOA,BBC.Later,i try to watch some movies to improve it,you know, there are so many new words and proverb that may be easy for the English speaker, but it is really difficult for me. Can you give me some advices? Thank

How about improving your english vocabulary. When you are already familiar with most of the words then it would be easier for you to listen to them beacuse you already know it...

focus! that's the only thing i can say to help you develop your listening ability. also, try to put in mind the lessons discussed to you so you can be able to comprehend and listen well

Better buy some practice tapes that you could play OVER and OVER again... As they say, practise makes perfect,. I did take my English exam and that's how I train for my LISTENING TEST... guess what I had only a SINGLE mistake in that part. But I was able to do it not because I am good at it, but because God helped me for sure.

You may try taping discussions or downloading them to your computer. That way you can start and stop and listen at your own pace. Avoid distractions like noise in the background. Look directly at your speaker's face. Watch their lips, their mouth movements and their facial expressions. Try copying them. If you have a native English speaking friend ask for their help. Good Luck
