Low blood pressure

Okay, let me start by saying I did something stupid yesterday. I didn't eat very much and then spent a couple hours painting in the heat. I thought I was fine since I had been chugging water all day, and you know how heat makes you all "bleh" and not hungry? I got super-lightheaded by the end of the painting. I should have eaten something when we got back home, but I didn't and therefore woke up with my heart pounding through to my back and sides and my extremeties getting pins and needles. My girlfriend got me water and a bowl of cereal and I got better. How many times am I gonna put myself through this lesson?! Argh. I have consistently low blood pressure (usually registers about 110/80 or 100/70) and I know it drops in the heat, esp. if I haven't eaten enough. The chest pounding this morning was tachycardia, which I get very rarely these days, and I felt so stupid for bringing it on myself. Anybody know their body's needs and somehow continue to make the same mistake over and over?
