Funny things animals do

What's the funniest thing you've ever witnessed an animal do? Growing up my mom used to feed the birds and squirrels in the back yard. We lived in an apartment on the 2nd floor, so she would throw seed and nuts out the window. The squirrels got so used to this, they would come right up to the window and look for the food. So mom started to leave the nuts on the window ledge and close the window, then the squirrels would sit on our ledge to eat the nuts. One day a squirrel came to our window looking for nuts, but we were out. So mom put some peanut butter on bread and put it out there for the squirrel. Do you know what that squirrel did? He peed on the peanut butter!! Turned around and peed on it! Then of course he left in a huff... we made sure never to run out of nuts after that.

I am currently redoing my bathroom, and I have taken the sink out of the counter. My boyfriend, the neat freak, carefully put a towel over the hole. I commented that one of the cats would come in and jump right in the middle of the towel and fall through the hole. Needless to say, just as I finished saying those words; Willy, one of my flame point Siamese, came racing into the bathroom, jumped straight for the counter and fell through the hole as he landed on the towel. I laughed myself silly because he looked sooooo surprised. He looked up at us with that "You did that deliberately" look that people get when something funny happens. He wasn't hurt, just a bit P.O'd!

Thank you for the best response!! It made my morning...I'm not much of a morning person, so it really brightened my day. My Mom and I firmly believed that we could get a normal animal and bring it home, let it drink some of our well water, and they would become the looney crazy animals that we adore! Khuay, (He's the one in the avatar) will sleep so soundly that he can roll over, fall off the bed and not even wake up. I have to pick him up off the floor and put him back on the bed. He also is a wonderful mouser, except his depth perception is horrible. He has a tendency to run into the walls while he is busily playing with his catch. He is wonderful with kids, he is so relaxed that you could tie him in knots and he wouldn't care! I also had a standard poodle who would steal things and then "confess" to us when we came home. We didn't always figure out what he was confessing, as in the case of his eating wool. I had knit myself a pair of wool slippers-it took me a year to finish them. I got to wear them twice and then one disappeared. I had carefully put them on my chair and the next morning it was gone...just one though. I searched the house and couldn't find it. My dad came in a few days later and announced that the dog was horribly sick, that the dog's poop was a "funny" color. We all went out and took a look, and I discovered the dog's wool eating preference. He never got over it, and we changed from wearing wool to man made fibers.

My puppy does the funniest thing when he wants us to throw his ball. One day, my mom was watching Bonanza, and Duds was sitting with her. He saw a bull on the show, and now, he "bulls" us. He actually kicks his feet up just like a bull. It's soooo funny!

That's hilarious katsmeow1213. My long hair persian cat I had growing up used to call for my mother. She would actually say, "momma". It was so cute. Whenever she wanted her or was looking for her, she would call her.

Our dogs act pretty funny on a daily basis. They are usually all over the place trying to get themselves into trouble, lol. It's funny watching them chase after an ant or a moth. And we have also discovered that they like chasing bubbles, lol. So we keep a bottle in the house so we can drive them crazy.

That is funny, kasmeow1213! Aren't animals hilarious sometimes? When I was around five years old, we had neighbors who took very bad care of their animals (if they ever did at all). They were the sort who would buy a puppy or a kitten because it looked cute. But as soon as it grew up, they would "release it into the wild". Ugh, I'm so glad they moved away. Anyway, one day we discovered that they'd "released" a black and white bunny. He was a handsome, tough guy. He didn't let us anywhere near him most days, so we couldn't catch him and get him to a good home, but he would let us feed him carrots. The funny thing was that he would herd me around like a dog would! I thought it was silly even at the time, but now I look back and smile even more at that. He disappeared one day a couple of months after that. I don't know what happened to him, but I hope he turned out okay.

I remember a time when I still lived at home with my parents (I was 19). They had a Great Dane and a Siamese cat. When we first rescued the Siamese cat from the animal shelter, she would use her claws all the time, she was quite vicious actually and the dog carried scars from her handiwork. Our vet recommended declawing or putting her to sleep. My Dad was attached to her by then, and so opted for the declawing. She was quite ill afterwards, tearing out her stitches several times and refusing to eat. I think had my Dad the choice to do it over, he would have had her put down instead. But she finally pulled through. Our gentle Great Dane had fussed over her, so worried about her even after all the slashing she did to him! The moment of truth arrived when the dog put his muzzle in her face one day and she went to slash his nose and POW! The looks on both their faces was PRICELESS! And so that became their favorite game after that. He would purposely stick his nose to hers, and she would scream at him (you know, like all Siamese do) and hit him with her paws, and he would just keep his muzzle there and whine and yelp in fun. Then they would curl up together and sleep. They were a real trip!
