This is quite surprising to me, considering all of the good hospitals out here. It is not that I do not agree with it, it is just that I would have never guessed. There is Cedars and Saint John's, which I assumed were better than UCLA. I have never been a patient at either one of them, but have visited all three. Has anyone on Mylot ever been a patient at UCLA, how was your visit/stay? http://www.uclahealth.org/virtualtours/reagan/tourfiles/flash/index.html

I thought it was John's Hopkins Hospital (in the WORLD... not just the US). Let me see if I can find a link of the best hospitals.... http://health.usnews.com/sections/health/best-hospitals That is from US NEWS and just the first one that I found. http://www.webmd.com/news/20070713/americas-best-hospitals-listed That is from WebMD and that may be the same list... I didn't take the time to look. I have been a patient at John's Hopkins and I am proud to say they did the best job and had the best care of any hospital I have ever been to. Now with UCLA... is it a certain part of the hospital that ranked #1? Cancer, Pediatrics...? Thanks Zelo

I am sorry. I did not specify that the article said it is "The best in the west." I just figured that sounded a little to corny, but I guess it makes a big difference in the article.

Kinda makes a big difference... they are highly rated... in the top 5 if I am not mistaken though Hopkins has been #1 for a long time and I doubt it will be leaving that post any time soon. There is even a new TV show called Hopkins about real life incidents that happened there. I have yet to see it but I hear it is a good watch. Thanks for the clarification. Zelo
