I am having a really hard time finding hypoallergenic earrings. I don't know if it's the key words I'm using or what.
I'm trying to find some nylon 16 gauge earrings. Or titanium. Why is this so hard to find?
Maybe someone here knows where I should look.

Do you have a Claire's or a Icing store in your local mall? That's where I find " Sensitive Ears earrings. They are hypoallergenic. They say hypoallergenic right on their package.

We do have a Claire's and an Icing at just about every local mall out here, but I don't trust $3 earrings at all. The package might say they're hypoallergenic, but I've heard they're not. People who can't wear anything less than 14K gold can't wear those earrings. And I can't even wear 18K gold. :(
It also doesn't even say what type of metal they're using, which means it's probably just the common jewelry mystery metal, possibly with some type of coating to temporarily prevent allergies for people who are just barely allergic to the standard super cheap earrings at those stores.

That's okay, not your fault. :)
I've got some surgical steel in right now and it's giving me far less of a reaction than any other metal I've tried, but still some reaction.
I bought some titanium earrings tonight at this place: www.bodyartforms.com so I'm hoping that those will work, I think they should. Titanium is supposed to be very hypoallergenic.

Oh, I am sorry. I remember seeing surgical steel earrings but I am not sure at which store. It could have been Penny's. When I look for earrings for my sister, I shop at The Icing, Claire's and Penny's.It sounds like the stores may not be the place, but online may be the best place to look. Good Luck. I wish I could have been more help.

Yeah, platinum and rhodium are supposed to also be hypo allergenic for most people. I've tried rhodium coated (anti-tarnish) silver and white gold is also generally coated in rhodium. My ears tend to do best with white gold so far, so it must be the rhodium.
I'm not sure if there are any solid rhodium earrings though, or how pricey they'd be. And even with white gold earrings, my ears are not perfectly unaffected.
