Mylor neighbors, where do you live??

United States
July 12, 2008 7:20am CST
I was going through some of the discussions and checking our some of the profiles on Mylot, when I came across 2 Mylotters from Tennessee.. I am from Tennessee and since I had just gone through about 3 profiles and 2 of them were from areas in Tennessee also, I started wondering where everyone was from.. I don't mean born or raised, although you can feel free to add that also, but where are you living now.. This may not work and I will not be commenting on the responses, but just as a list that everyone can see without going back and forth from profile to profile, can you just note in a response and let us know where you live.. We may be surprised to find that a group of anonymous persons who we have chatted with, laughed with, joked with, consoled and given advice to may just be our neighbors.. As an example, I was playing Bingo on Pogo one night and an innocent answer to a question from another player turned into a conversation with a person who lived not more than 10 miles from me and who had been to the same flea market that I had been to the very day before, and had a daughter who worked with one of our best friends at a country type store where we went for coffee all of the time.. We now send emails back and forth all of the time.. Now remember, I am not going to be responding to all of the posts, (I will probably respond to some, since I can never keep my big mouth shut for long), as I would like this to be a list of our friends and a better idea of where everyone is from.. So, I am gong to kick it off and hope everyone joins in, I am from Knoxville, Tennessee, and have lived here all of my life.. Now it is your turn

Well I live in Stoke On Trent in England and I have lived here for 16 years, feels like a lot longer but I am hoping that it does not turn out to be a life sentence LOL

I said that I wasn't going to respond to all of the responses but I might have lied.. I understand the names of our cities and states in the US but sometimes the names of your locations in England seem so different, would Stoke on Trent be comparable to a state in the US?? I was never any good at Geography..

Ummm, I actually failed geography at school but I think that it would be yes. If I am wrong then maybe someone will notice and correct me!

Oh well, I should have failed spelling as well, I just noticed that I had a typo and spelled Mylot as Mylor in the discussion name, how bad is that.. They should have had a class in Typos at school, I would have failed it or maybe have passed it as I do enough of them..

OK... You ready? lol...... I am currently living in Cairo; before this I lived in Mumbai and before this I lived in Manila. I have spent most of my life living on the East Coast of Australia; some of my life living on the West Coast of Australia; and spent the first five years of my life living in Hong Kong! The way things are shaping up at the moment I will be moving to the USA soon as well!

Isn't that supposed to be spelled New Joisy, or something like that.. Do you guys have the accent that is portrayed on all of the movies and TV shows?? Not all of us Southerners have the accent that is portrayed on movies or TV either.. But it isn't a bad thing to be known by the sound of your voice.. Good to meet you also..

I have never been to New York, never been out of Tennessee for that matter, but I would love to go to New York, I believe that I would honestly be happy living there... I thought it was a great idea but after I got it off the ground and going, I noticed my typo so we are now on the Mylor site.. They are going to have to change the name

Yes I think Tennessee would be a great place to live. I visit there often. I like to go to Memphis, Nashville, and Jackson. Mississippi is a pretty good place to live too. I didn't think so when I was younger. I thought it was dull. Well I guess it is but I appreciate that more now that I'm older.

I live between Nashville and Clarksville, way back in the country. LOL We moved here in January of this year from Elkton, MD.. and let me just say, I thought small town living was hard, not as hard as country living. hehehe Before this move, I lived there for a long time, before that I was all throughout Maryland and even Delaware for a short time, but that was when I was a little kid. haha Also, I lived in Clarion, Pennsylvania for 3 years while I was going to college there. And went to school another 2.5 years on the eastern shore of Maryland. So yea, I've moved around a lot. I went to approximately 6 schools between grades K-5, and at least one of those I went to twice. LOL Long story. And a few of those schools I didn't go to for more than a few weeks to a month! LOL Anyway.. enough of my life story. ;)

Do you like it better in TN than in the other states?? Tennessee gets a bad rap sometimes but we are a great bunch of people to be around.. I would love to have enough money to just go to a bunch of the northeastern states and go antiquing, (is that a word), I have heard that there are many, many shops, stores and different fairs and sales where you can buy antiques.. I would go in the fall of the year as I have seen many pictures of those states and they are gorgeous, but TN has great fall scenery also.. thanks for the response, even if I did spell Mylot wrong, I wish I had a penny for every typo that I make on here..

from the beautiful country of the philippines, i know no one's going to comment so much bad publicity in the country, but the place is good, many tourist spots, beautiful beaches and places, some hospitable people specially to tourists.

We all have problems where we live.. Not one of our countries are perfect.. I did however read this portion on a web site about the Philipines.. "Even with their problems, the Philippines is a relatively safe and cheap place to go, with beautiful beaches, fantastic mountain ranges and beautiful ocean views, where beautiful pictures can be taken, with a long and interesting history." Sounds like you live in a beautiful country.. I have a freind who lives here in TN and she and her mother are from the Philipines, I believe in a couple of months, her mother is going to be a naturalized American citizen.. They are going home for a visit soon, because she still has brothers and sister still living there.. Glad you are here with us..

There is definitely crime in Miami as it would be in any other congested city but I do also feel like people hype it up.

I'm from a little village called Oblong. It's supposed to be the only Oblong. But it's just a little place in central Illinois. I've lived in this county all of life, but I moved from my home town to Oblong 6 years ago. I'm only 8 miles from my home town.

Henpeck is a great store. the man that own's the store makes stuff out wood, metal, etc, and his wife can paint, sew, and do lots of crafts. They make neat stuff and sell it. Some expensive, some really cheap. It' s a pretty safe place to live. There's only 1600 people here. Thanks for looking us up!!! That's really cool.

My husband's sister lives In New Smyrna beach and we went to visit her this past January.. She lives with two of her disabled and retired friends, (they are the Golden Girls), and is begging us to come and stay with them, we are thinking about it, as my husband has always wanted to move to Florida, so it may be in our future.. I just hate to leave my son living here by himself, we will be so far away.. We may just run into you one day, you never know.. Some of us on Mylot are closer to each other than we think, we may need signs to wear that states, "I am a Mylot member", then we would know..

? Sometimes I am afraid of how we might be making problems for ourselves by giving out information on the internet. But, I live in Lexington N.C. I was born here but my dad trained harness horse so we traveled a lot. I've lived in Maryland, Florida, S.C. and Texas. Nothing to do with our president, but Texas is where I'd rather be. My mom and dad are getting old so I want to be with them as much as I can so I will be here as long as they are....

I have given out information many times on the net and never had any problems but who knows?? I think a bit of our information can be found on our profiles anyway.. This was just a question raised by my curiosity after seeing a few people on Mylot who lived In Tennessee.. You have traveled a bit, hope you enjoyed all of the places that you have seen.. My husband wants to move to Florida so very badly, and we said that we wouldn't leave TN as long as our parents were living, but in the last 3 years we lost both of them and now are free to go whenever we decide to make the big change.. If you love TX, then I believe that I would go, especially for the parents.. You don't get to keep them forever and you miss them so much when they are gone.. Thanks so much for being a Mylot friend..
