16 year old Shinjini had to face a pathetic situation at a reality dance show where she was allegedly rebuked by the judges of the show for her bad performance. The girl, unable to bear such harsh remarks, got collapsed and had to be hospitalised immediately. She suffered from partial paralysis due to the public humiliation she was subjected to.
After a month long treatment the now she is able to move her feet and hands, now. The doctors diagonised it as an inflammation of both the spinal cord and the brain, as against her parents who have blamed the judges for their daughter's condition.
Let us not analyse about what the cause is..the most common issue which lurks out the whole issue is depression....this problem is quite alarming..
What do you find it as a major cause.. for this girls situation?
It is the desire to win, which have developed in their minds.. the " GREED" to win the competition.. Things must be taken in lighter sense.. The girl might have practised for long hours..and added to the rebuking she had.. the effects she is experiencing now..
Do you think that the parents also contribute the depression factor of thier children.. or is the society is demanding too much from the younger generations..which makes them broke.
Thanks friend for sharing your views.. Cheers to all.

I used to believe that also, but over time, realisitically, it is a matter of our own choices. If modern lifestyle makes you depressed, and you know it, then it is up to yourself to sort the problem. It is the same as saying, I hate fridays, well each time you say that you are building a negative pattern in your own thoughts come friday. Same with society if you feel society is depressing me, then your own thoughts and words are making it worse. A happy person can walk with a smile anywhere, The old phrase from Plato, "Know thyself" :-)

Hi saivenkaat802003! I have notice that too in some parents that I know who put too much pressure on their children to achieve greater heights. It is not bad to wish great things for the children but we should be giving the support and guidance without acting like dictators and trainers. We should not instill on the children to win at all cause but to do the best that they can and that they should show the children that whatever happens they will still be proud of them.
Take care and God Bless!

i guess it was a physical fatigue that leads to the illness..meaning while practicing the poor teens had developed such..what a waste of life if only her parents really care much for her and had spotted it earlier it will be taken care off..i really dont know if parents can pressure the child to do such thing..since im a parent too and i cant pressure my daughters to do that if they cant handle it or have feel something different while rehearsing such piece... @Shaun72 (15959)

This is really sad. She was proberly put under enough pressure by her peers and family without the judges cutting her down. Some of these talent shows take it to far to me anyhow. Even the ones I like to watch on tv. American idol and also Nashville Star. The judges on boths shows can be pretty cruel. I am sure it adds to alot of the ones that have tryed out and also that have been or are on there shows to have depression from all of the pressure.
