Only two things that i can say, the nonstop fans that run all day long to some how manage the sultry atmosphere.. and the second one is the refrigerator, as you said. I will be bluffing if i say that my computer is working 24/7..May be it is on for 5 hours a day.

i guess everybody must have named their fridge, right ? the next thing that almost always doesnt get switched off, would be the fans (ceiling fans)...

Same as yours, our fridge is on 24/7 nonstop. When I as still studying, the computer is also left alone overnight. Now that I'm already working, the computer gets its long deserved break. Hmm, what else? When the weather is hot, our fans are almost always on a 24-hour shift. Or at least we alternately use the electric fans so that they don't get overused. But then, nothing beats the fridge. The only break it gets is when we have to clean it, probably about every other month. Other than that, it's always plug to the outlet. :)

Hi dianagnes, same as you as well, the refrigerator in my kitchen is the device which is using electricity continuously for 24 hours all the day. This fridge plays a quite important role in my house. We keep fish, prawn, meat and ice cream in the freezing compartment. Besides there are yogurts, butter, milk, fruits, vegetable, desserts and many other stuffs are kept in it. The electricity broke down for more than 12 hours two years back. We tried our best to consume as many as possible the stuffs in the freezing compartment. But it is rather sad that we still couldn’t finish all our favorite ice cream as it melted very fast. So electricity supply is quite important to our fridge. We don't switch off the fridge even if we are going for long vacation. posting and have a nice day.

Well the fridge, obviously. Beyond that, my computer is on 24/7. Most people make the mistake of thinking you save power when you shut it down overnight ... but it actually uses less power staying on overnight in standby than it does to shut it down and boot it back up in the morning. My alarm clock is plugged in it all times, and my cordless phone and answering machine. And since I sleep with the TV on for background noise, that's on pretty much 24/7 as well. I think that's about it.

I think, in my case, fridge, computer, cordless telephone. Because of blogging, I used to check email every now and then. So my computer will be on always. Other than that, TV is one another thing which is on all the time.

Of course my frig as well as my computer and my answering machine. My alarm clock runs by battery so it is not on. My ceiling fan in my bedroom runs all the time and usually at night there is a tv on for the good majority of the night (sometimes all night). Then there is the cable box on the tv - thats on 24/7 as well. My son has a beard trimmer thats plugged in all the time. If I am charging my cell phone it is plugged in overnight. Other than that I think thats all. Isn't it amazing the things you need electricity for!
