For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to visit Japan and when i think of Japan, I think of Kyoto. As the cultural center of Japan, it is my opinion that it would be best to stay in Kyoto because what better way to understand a different culture than to immerse yourself in it? ^_^ however, would it be more expensive to stay in Kyoto, for say like 2 weeks, than staying in Tokyo? Taking into consideration that there are a lot more shrines and historical places to visit in Kyoto than in Tokyo, would it be more expensive to pay for the entrance fees to these places than to stay in a coffee shop in Tokyo? I've heard of stories about Tokyo being uber expensive and i was wondering if Kyoto would likewise be as expensive with regards to experiencing that by-gone era...
