All Star Game Series?

The winning league of the All Star Game gets home field advantage for the world series. There has been a few articles claiming that players may not necessarily like this rule. I think it's a neat idea, to give the all star game a little more meaning rather than just get all of the best players together to show off. I was wondering what you would think if they made the all star game into an all star series. It could be as little as best two out of three so each league gets at least on chance to play their rules, or maybe even a best of 5 like the wild card game. Best of 7 would be a bit overkill and a little ridiculous. I also think doing the best of 3 series would give a chance to give the all star reserves a chance to play more too.

I agree with you because it adds a little more competition into the game rather than it be an exhibition game that means nothing. In the end the better league would gain home field advantage for themsleves

That is an interesting idea. I don't see it ever happening just because it increases the risk of players getting hurt during an all-star game. I don't like the World Series home field advantage rule. I think the All-Star game should be an exhibition and fun. Let the guys goof off and have a good time. I think its a lot more fun to watch a game when they are having a good time doing it. Also, don't forget that it is the players few days off during the season. The Major League Baseball season is grueling. They still go and take bp and play a game, but they still get a little rest because they don't have to play at maximum effort. They can go out and just relax and have fun without the pressures of a pennant race.

I have never thought of that but could be interesting to say the least. I don't think a Best of 7 would be needed but a Best of 3 would be perfect. I wouldn't be against it and would be willing to give it a fair chance. I'm fine with World Series on the line. Even with that, you could still see the NL win the World Series even if the AL that has the Home Field advantage. Anything to make the All Star game intesting is ok in my book. I like seeing excitment and something to be interesting. Now if they can get the World Series to quit ending so early and not having any excitment, that would be great. I would like to have that happen honestly. Maybe it's just me but I'm tired of sweeps in the World Series.

I think the series thing would work, but only if it were after the season has ended. there is way too much hype now to want to extend that in the middle of the season. I don't really care much for the home field advantage thing. Before, it was more fun for the players as the game didn't matter at all other than to have fun. Now it is "This one counts!"
